While you’re right in the heart of Borth with the sea just seconds away, this apartment is also a perfect base for exploring the rich and varied landscape of Ceredigion and beyond.
As the long sandy beach stretches north, is Borths’ sunken forest, an incredible natural phenomenon. You can find ancient tree stumps dating back thousands of years, visible at low tide.
Just north of the village lies Ynyslas, with its sweeping sand dunes and wild beach. From the south of the village, up the cliff, you can join the coastal path and walk all the way to Aberystwyth, with clifftop views, seabirds, and seals along the way.
Aberystwyth itself is just 7 miles away, an easy drive or train ride. There you’ll find a Victorian promenade, a cliff railway, and the terminus of the Vale of Rheidol steam railway, which winds up into the Cambrian Mountains to the dramatic Devil’s Bridge waterfalls. This spot, used in TV and film settings, is famed for its triple bridge and eerie beauty.
To the east lies Machynlleth, the ancient capital of Wales and now a quirky, creative little market town. With its book shop, galleries, wholefood cafés, and popular Wednesday market, it’s a great little daytrip if you don’t want to go too far afield. Further north, about 35 miles away the southern edge of Eryri (Snowdonia) begins to rise, offering spectacular day trips for walkers, photographers, and nature lovers. Whether you explore clifftops, woodlands, or heritage sites, your apartment in Borth offers a quiet, welcoming place to return to each evening.
