The fire alarm on the ceiling in my room began loudly chirping intermittently shortly after 5.30 am.I couldn’t smell any smoke.I had gone to bed at 1 am after attending the State of Origin game.I called Reception about 6.15 am to ask someone to come to my room & stop the noise.The guy at Reception said he couldn’t leave Reception & said the maintenance guy goes home at 6 am & I should have rung up before 6 am. ( I was not aware of their maintenance staff hours). I said I had planned to sleep until about 8.30 that morning & my sleep had been wrecked.He said a housekeeper could attend my room in around half an hour’s time.
I said I was now awake & would leave but that I should be given a free night’s accommodation
as recompense for the wrecked night.I told him I was coming back to Brisbane from Bundaberg in about a week The guy at Reception & the guy that relieved him refused to offer me any recompense at all. Very poor treatment of me overall by the staff.By the way, these smoke alarm batteries are supposed to be changed all at the same time on a yearly basis, so these unfortunate incidents don’t occur. It seems that doesn’t occur at Mt Ommaney Hotel Apartments.
I wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay here.
