A lovely hotel. Within reasonable walking to city centre. Rooms were lovely. Only minor issue when arriving at the Spa for a swim we were advised it wasn’t included in the package we bought on Expedia ( no mention of additional cost on the listing ). We did get in after pressing the spa reception but only once.

So sad to give such a lovely property poor reviews. First let me say the doormen and restaurant staff were exceptionally kind. Here’s where the place goes off the rails- first the room temp was set at 70 degrees but honestly felt like 75. We asked if they could cool the room but they had no ability to reduce the temperature. I paid a 400.00 deposit for incidentals- I have made multiple calls, several emails and have yet to receive my deposit back. Finally the grand finale - when I inquired about a Jewish restaurant in town the concierge stated “ you don’t want to go there … it’s a Jewish restaurant and they are not that nice there”. Do not let the beautiful interior and luxury rating misguide you ! Steer clear

NO HEAT!!! The heating system was NOT turned on in December. In Budapest. (Turning the thermostat to high only blew cold air making the room colder). The front desk explained to me that the heating system was old, and that too many rooms would be too hot if they turned it on. They did send a portable electric radiator which helped a bit. Most of the time when I was in the room I was laying underneath the covers trying to stay warm. Not a pleasant experience, and this colored my entire experience.

Hotel was clean and well presented. Breakfast was nothing short of chaotic. Big queues. Dirty tables. Lack of of table service. Our room was on the whole good, however did smell a little of sewage and was very warm. The hotel did move us which was appreciated.

Good location. Hotel is a bit tired but would’ve been grand once. We had issues with our billing as they claimed we used things from the mini bar we didn’t and someone had clearly charged a bar bill - which we did not go to - to our room. It did eventually get resolved. Breakfast was excellent.

The room was clean and staff was friendly. We were located quite far from an elevator. I had to ask twice for our bathroom to have toilet paper. I visited the spa and inquired about the sauna and was told it was a $28 fee per day. I found out on Our last day that was not true and the sauna was included. That was disappointing.

We asked for a quiet room overlooking the Atrium, but were kept up the first night due to the A/C being permanently on warm air and had to call out the engineer to reset the system. The second night there was a conference in the atrium and the banqueting team were working till 24:30 so little sleep again the second night! Staff were wonderful, room great and breakfast and spa superb so will return but choose a different room!

The hotel is really really pretty, and the facilities are very good. The breakfast was nice and varied. The sauna is ridiculously hot (good thing), and the jacuzzi is good. The pool I can’t believe is heated, as it’s freezing. The gym is just a typical hotel gym (max 10kg weights and couple of treadmills. The staff are quite stiff, but I think it might be a culture thing. Make sure to have items included in your booking package though, because my god the prices are astronomical for the Spa, Breakfast, massages etc. I’ve been countless places, and the massages are the most expensive I’ve ever seen. We got a room upgrade, but was pretty much the same but on the front of the building, to which you can hear everything, and must of got woken up from emergency services every hour.

We upgraded as it was my husbands birthday trip. I spoke to the hotel about doing something nice on arrival or the day of his birthday. I was told that guest relations have been made aware and this would be sorted, however it wasn’t which was a complete disappointment. The room we upgraded to, the shower was broken and there was a flood in the bathroom. Ontop of that the tv wasn’t working. We spoke to reception, someone came to look at the shower and said someone will come in the morning to sort it, which wasn’t good enough. Secondly we were told IT would come to fix the TV issue but then received another call to say no one was available to do this overnight and they would send someone in the morning. Again not good enough. The second day when we returned to the room after being out, nothing was sorted. So we spoke to reception and a manager was sent up. He came and offered a room change. But we only had that night left at the hotel. We questioned why this wasn’t offered the night before and he was apologetic and said it was a communication error. He managed to sort out the TV and apologised for the shower situation as well. He offered a later checkout before we caught our flight. The breakfast selection wasn’t great, the fruit was mouldy and not enough space to sit and eat. Considering it was a viral top of the range hotel, unfortunately our experience wasn’t great.
