Nice option in historical area

I always come back. Very nice hotel in historical area. The only minus would be the bad quality of the pastries at breakfast. Apart from that, and that the area is a bit dangerous especially during the dark hours, the hotel is very nice.

The property is located in an area of ongoing construction. The hotel Tango de Mayo stands out its well located near the obelisque and calle Florida. I would stay here again The staff was excellent. JUANA went out of her to help with general information and directions

Stayed one night wihh the family. Pros: Convenient location to many attractions that are walkable. Large rooms with high ceilings. Seems odd to mention the water pressure but this was notably amazing to be quite honest. Beautiful roof top setting with views of many historic domed buildings. Cons: Heating and cooling apparently is controlled by each floor and not by room (either heating or cooling can be on for the entire floor of rooms). Our room was around upper 70s and after a hot shower (not bathroom vent) was even hotter in the room we had to leave our room door open to at least equilibrate to the slightly cooler floor temp. Have to say the front desk was very helpful and actually turned the heating off for the floor to cooling and problem was solved about an hour later.

Though I booked a “room with city view” there was no window and no view. What could be called a window was looking into the ventilation shaft with permanent noise. When I asked the staff about changing the room, the answer was expected - no other room available. Such a room exist on each floor ending with “7”.

The hotel is conveniently located and within a 15-minute walk to the main street, Avenida Corrientes, and also the Obelisco. The parliament building can be seen from the front of the hotel and is a couple of blocks away. The hotel itself is quite old and it shows, but it is functional. Aside from the breakfast service which is good, and the breakfast service staff being super helpful, the restaurant has very limited options for dining-in if you wanted to eat at the hotel. The standard room size is decent, however a major drawback is that there are no electrical outlets within eye sight anywhere in the room, so charging your devices will be a challenge. The bathroom, for some reason has 4 plug points, which makes no sense. Given that it is the only usable power source for plugging in your devices, putting a wall shelf there would have been helpful. With the wash basin near the plugs, it is your only option to use as a shelf, although I question the safety aspect of that, with water being splashed around. The shower water pressure is superb, and you get two bottles of water each day with housekeeping. The hotel is on a very busy street, so get yourself a set of earplugs to wear at night. All things considered; I would stay here again.

Updated grand hotel with large room full twenty foot floor to ceiling windows. Immaculate room with tango steps themed carpet special tango tiles and walk in shower with power rain shower head. Hotel gave a”introductory drinks from the bar and provided buffet breakfast. Staff was friendly, courteous and professional. Especially a dual language young man. Convenient location that is in main central district. Stay here and enjoy.
