Lovely hotel in a good location, close to the esplanade, marina and night markets, cool and inviting when you walk through the doors. Great room with a pool view and a good buffet breakfast. Helpful friendly staff.

The room was clean but still had a noticeable amount of sand on the floor from the previous occupant. Not unexpected for a resort in a beach location but we felt more attention should have been paid to this matter.

We stayed 5 nights at the Novotel in Cairns. Staff were amazing, housekeeping was exceptional. The buffet breakfast was delicious. The pool loungers need replacing as they are all old and had sagged and you end up feeling the framing cross bars underneath, which was very uncomfortable.

The pool was amazing, I loved the beach with the gradual entry. I loved that they left toys around for the kids to play with. The breakfast, though pricy was great as it was all so tasty and fresh with great variety. We did move to a larger room half way through our stay as 2 adults and two children in a standard room is not a lot of room. The kids had to share a queen bed as they were not able to seperate. Even when we moved to a delux suit with double the room they still had to share a bed only now it was a fold out couch 😂. There was a bigger kitchenette and a much bigger bathroom with a spa plus the table now had 4 chairs instead of two. Yet still only one luggage rack when there was so much space for another one? A comfortable plush chair next to the king bed would have been nice, we had to use a kitchen chair. The delux bathrooms are beautiful but there were spots of mold in the wettest areas in the shower. The bathroom door in the standard room was warped from the wet and paint and wood peeling and swelled at the bottom. That door needs replacing as it got jammed as due to warping does not line up with the lock. My daughter got stuck in there and took me 5 mins with a teaspoon on the lock on the outside to get her out. We were not game to lock it after that. The bathroom door in the delux suit was better quality. We really appreciated the icy cold air conditioning in the common rooms. The turn down service was great and reception staff helpful and friendly. Thanks

Spacious clean rooms ,excellent breakfast except fresh fruits were served very big size so you have to use butter knife to cut into smaller pieces 😀 Has guest laundry. Within easy walking distance to Reef Terminal and Central City Mall/ station.

Friendly staff, decent breakfast and pool but the room was extremely basic with damp patches on the wall curtains in a questionable state and ants (although they did leave us a can of poison). The whole room (deluxe family) in general was tired and in need of some attention. Our 'pool view' ended up being a roof structure, on the positive side the bathroom was more modern and large also having two separate toilets in the room was helpful with kids. We wouldn't stay again unfortunately

The room Definitely was in rougher condition than we expected. Plus there was an ant infestation apparently that’s a thing all around Cairns though. Great walking distance. The e pool was awesome. Very kid friendly which wasn’t great for our childless selves lol
