The room overall was ok. However, there were issues with the beds - for some weird reason, the beds roll freely on the floor with the slightest motion. What is especially annoying is that they separate from the headboard and there is no way to get them attached. We asked to get this resolved, and for 2+ days nobody would come claiming the "do not disturb" light was on, which was also not functioning correctly. We were out on tours for on both days too, and I told the reception about that when I was leaving. Finally, they were able to put some carpet and towels underneath the rollers (yeah, really), and this helped, but did not prevent the beds from rolling completely. On the positive side, the location is great (probably the best thing about the hotel). We did not really use the facilities, but the pool looked nice. To be honest, I expected more from Shangri-La.

We loved the pool, pool bar and room overlooking the trees. We were most impressed with the customer service provided by all staff, in particular Kirin on the front desk. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend.

Let me start by saying the hotel staff were good and we had no issues with them at all. However, the room doors need attention as they don’t always close properly. After returning from a day trip, we found that the cleaner had left our door open. Thankfully nothing was stolen, but it was understandably very frustrating. Overall, the room itself was of good quality and we had a pleasant stay. The air conditioning was fantastic if anything, it worked a little too well, but that’s hardly a complaint. The main reason for my lower rating relates to the maintenance of the building. The pool was extremely dirty, the umbrellas were torn and broken, and although the sun loungers were comfortable, they were clearly worn, with broken backs and damaged backrests. The toilets were very dated and reminded me of a Butlins-style holiday camp. Overall, the property felt more like a budget Travelodge than a hotel offering standout facilities. I would say there are better hotels available with superior facilities. If you’re looking for a “wow” factor, I would recommend looking elsewhere. That said, the saving grace of this property was the stunning views from the room and over the marina.
