The Heron has a god location, reasonable rates, a comfy bed, and some nice amentiies in the room. It is billed as a "boutique hotel" - I think of it as a smaller, older hotel with some charm. As an older construction style wooden frame building it can be noisy room to room and even floor to floor, but it sure is nice when it's quiet. Although it is not style of breakfast, it was included in the price and seemed very popular with many guests.

Perfect for the Price point, will stay again

This hotel has no surprises, it’s exactly what you get for the price. It has an old school boutique hotel vibe which was great! The room was clean,it is a great location across from the beach and great restaurant next door. This hotel provided everything we were looking for and a great breakfast in the morning as well. Perfect for the price point. We will stay again. Thank you!

Character Hotel Stay

Customer service was excellent! They upgraded me to a suite to accommodate me checking in 15 mins earlier! Very friendly staff. The vibe is very old home character-ish with lots of antique furniture. The carpets definitely need to be changed but otherwise 10/10 stay. Also a bonus to wake up in front of the ocean. 😍

When I arrived I had to read multiple signs from the front door and front desk as there were no staff and this was late afternoon. I picked up the telephone and dialed 0 and a chinese man with limited english came down the stairs very casually dressed. (I thought he was a guest in sleep wear). He was like I was a bother from the get go even though I had a reservation. The first thing he said was payment not hello or welcome or nothing other than payment. He took my credit card and ran it through I have no idea what he was doing but the card came back as fraud. After several tries, I told him he was doing it wrong and I guided him on how to process the payment, I have never used the system as a merchant before but it worked. I gave me a room card I went to the room and was disappointed as it does not look like the pictures on line. It is very dated which I was expecting from the price but the bedspread was greyish white with noticeable stains all over. I went back to the desk he was still there still asking for my credit card which made me feel uncomfortable. He came to the room and said this is what all the rooms look like. He reassigned me another room which was better but noisey from the upstairs (brought ear plugs) and still not a sense of clean. Maybe update the bedspreads and shower curtains as the torn ripped and stained look does not look appealing. You get what you pay for...

Never had i ever had an over night property person just use there key card and walk in without knocking or asking to enter, let alone it happened at 249 am Have stayed with rhis hotel in the pass and never had a problem like this before. Yes they gave me a discount for the inconvenience. But they do not have the right just to enter at wee hours of the morning
