We spent three nights at El Rey de Calibre and really enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The grounds were gorgeous and we loved just sitting outside at night and relaxing. The shower had enough warm water and great water pressure. The air conditioner was almost a little too good! The breakfast is good and will get you through to a larger meal. It's not a ton of food but it's very good. The staff was outstanding and extremely helpful with any questions we had. We've been to the area many times, but this is the first time that we've stayed near the downtown area. There are a couple restaurants that are super close and in walking distance and a huge number of restaurants and bars less than 15-minute walk. The walk is easy, BTW. Recommendations: more loungers by the pool. More towels in the room.

Toucan play that game?

Lovely calm and green space in the midst of Cancun, free coffee an excellent bonus! Spacious and comfortable rooms and perfectly serviceable breakfast included. Sadly the toucans eluded us but the grackles were tuneful. All communal spaces were very tastefully decorated.

After a long journey for the UK we were greeted by a very friendly and helpful man (wish we’d gotten his name!), his service was really exceptional. The property feels like a little oasis with the greenery and privacy. The cooked breakfast included is also a lovely bonus. Supermarkets and restaurants nearby, plus good transport links to other parts of Cancun

Great staff and service. Biggest disappointments are water pressure, and temp. control of showers. Either the system fluctuates temp a lot, or a bad mixing valve in the shower. Ask maintenance to fix, and they just replaced the shower head. The issue was still there. Sadly, can't stay here again when it takes a half hour to shower and burning to freezing fast fluctuations. I would never want a child to shower and have that water temp. keep changing to burning hot. I had to step out of the shower stream when it went hot about every 2 minutes.

I was only in Cancun a couple of nights and this hotel was a quaint, safe place to stay. It is close to the Ado which was convenient, and the staff were very kind and helpful. I would stay again.

The place was very pretty with the pool and courtyard offering a little oasis from the city. The staff was friendly and helpful, someone was always at the front desk to answer questions. The room was very clean.

Good stay in good location

Location was good close to the bus station and some great restaurants. Hotel has a lot of charm but is a little bit in need of some attention and love. Staff were okay but not the friendliest of places we have stayed in Mexico. Place was generally very clean.

It is a lovely place, that offers good value. Located close to a nice street with many food OPTIONS (el Socio Naiz was the best of all!) and quite close to Zona Hotelera (by car). Breakfast included was a plus. The only two things they could improve on was on having hot water, which usually was cold at night and lukewarm at best during the day, and WiFi connection.
