The property was really clean, and easy to get around to the other areas of the resort. The dining options were great and accommodates every persons tastes. Kobo and Aakat were both great restaurants!

I love where it is located. It’s in the midst of wildlife’s natural habitat. The service was impeccable. They certainly know how to take care of their guests.

Excellent staff, everyone was striving to make the stay pleasurable. Something that stood out was the food service staff all wore hairnets! There was a lot of varierty for food and drink options. Lots of wildlife around the property. My family enjoyed our stay at El Cid

Not sure when the property was built but we were in a room in Building 18 and the interior was a little dated. Though it looked very clean, there was a bit of a musty smell, the big bathroom mirror had some definite weathering around the edges and the bathroom provided very little privacy. There was a frosted glass door to the room with the toilet and it didn't close completely and couldn't be locked. Though the room was very large, I wouldn't want to share it with anyone beyond my partner due to the complete lack of bathroom privacy. The whirlpool tub is completely open to the entire room and even if you shower, you have to step out into the wide-open bathroom to dry off. Staff was great and the pools & outside area were very well maintained.

all around our stay with marina el cid was enjoyable, but I feel there are some concerns that need to be shared. We booked this place for the “26 bars and restaurants” and dining options for a la carte dinners. We also booked due to the $600 resort credit promised. Let’s start with the restaurants. We arrived later in the day and had buffet for dinner. The buffet had many options however, if there is a vegetarian in your group, or anyone with dietary restrictions, buffet items are definitely not accurately labeled, and it was very difficult to determine what did and did not have meat. The staff tried to help answer but it was difficult to get a firm answer sometimes. This goes for all buffet style dining on the 3 combined resorts. The next morning we went to the lobby to start booking our a la carte meals for the week, and were told there was absolutely nothing available for the entire week other than 9:00/9:30, and when asked how everything was reserved ahead of time when we couldn’t book before arriving, we were told they were “platinum members” with a weird smile. Essentially, if we wanted to sit down at a restaurant in our one week stay, we had to upgrade so we payed the $780. The “butler” we had as part of platinum couldn’t reach us -we didn’t have cell service. other than being moved to the other side of the resort, not much else changed except getting dinner booked. And the resort credit? It’s a $600 coupon for for like $10 off $150 services, and car rental discounts.

The grounds were lush and well manicured. Lots of great restaurants to choose from. 3 different resorts all rolled into one so plenty of choices for relaxing. The beach is not good but if you walk 5 mins past the marina you can find a nice part of beach to take a dip. Overall a great resort in my opinion.

We found out at check in that we were not able to book the many restaurants as a family . We were traveling with our children and grandchildren. They told us the only way to guarantee dinner together is to be up sold to the platinum level at a cost of 540.00 USD!!!!!!!! We were NOT PLEASED. I felt that we were being pushed to that level. Needless to say we paid the 540.00$ USD, so that we could eat with our grandchildren. On top of that the 600.00 credit was vouchers, that we had to spend more at the spa. So really wasn't a credit !!! We booked this resort because of the restaurant options, and to be told we couldn't book them , really felt like a cash grab.

So it was a nice trip but what’s going on with charging 15 dollars a day for internet after two codes?! Also no food service at the pool big let down. Also the beach ughhhhh terrible. The entertainment was good and food good.
