The overall feel was warm and inviting. Connie at the front desk was very helpful and provided us a wealth of information for touring the area. She was very hospitable and made our stay even better. The room was clean and spacious. However, I did not care for the decor of the wolf and deer heads on walls. Pictures would have been better. Overall, a great stay and we would return.

This hotel is overrated. If you don’t have a car and are visiting as a tourist as we did it is very difficult to get around. I have a knee injury so walking to town which would probably take 25 minutes over the highway was out of the question. The front desk woman who checked us in did not give us any information and it felt like we are squeezing a lemon getting any info about our stay, our hotel or getting around town from her. She was ignorant and rude and totally spoiled our stay because of our first impressions of the property through. In fact we tried to cuz our visit short and check out the next morning, but they said it was non-refundable so we stayed not to lose money, but transferred back to Banff afterwards. In terms of transportation we took a taxi into town each day two ways. There is a local bus about 700 m away however there is a two hour break in the day and it finishes running early so it did not match our schedule. Also it is located kind off on a small road next to the forest and there are bear in are warning signs all over next to it so we felt uncomfortable. The hotel itself is quite new in fact the facilities are not available yet such as the new spa. The room is new and a decent size. The bathtub though is so high and anyone with leg injury would find it difficult to get in and out. The water pressure in the shower was very low. The body wash was not refilled for a few days and we had to use shsmpoo to wash ourselves.

We loved our stay at MTN house hotel! Would definitely return if coming back to Canmore and would recommend to friends/family. Location and amenities are great and staff are very helpful!

Upon arrival, front desk woman did not greet us. We had to say hello first. She stopped us, and asked for ID then “demanded” a credit card without saying what for and how much. She did not confirm anything about our reservation which actually is two reservations as we had regretfully booked an extended stay through expedia. She did not explain anything about property or amenities. We asked several questions including how much was I charged for the deposit and questions about local bus. She informed us wrong information about the local transport. We later googled and found the correct information. She did not tell us or confirm our booking details such as room and its facilities. Had we known there was no walk-in shower assigned, we would have asked for a room with one prior to unpacking everything. I am a frequent traveler and this hotel ranks in the top 5 worst hotels in terms of customer service. Very unprofessional front desk staff. The woman who checked us in on Monday October 6th around 6pm needs professional training in customer service. It is a shame that that woman represents our first impression of this hotel. We are also hotel reviewers and have a large social media following and sadly cannot recommend this place. First impressions matter - can either elevate your stay make or spoil it before it even begins. Sadly in this case it is the latter.
