The good stuff: the staff here was wonderful. The location was great. The complaints: the bed was ridiculously high. I had to use a chair to get into it. Probably not how the hotel wants their chairs used but otherwise I'd be sleeping on the floor. I'm 5'-3". The shower: I get that the hotel is old and they want to have a certain "look and feel". However, my house was built in exactly the same year (1914) and there is so much that can be done to provide something functional that maintains the historic look and feel. First of all, there are detailed instructions on how to operate it. Secondly, the previous occupants must have overridden the high temp control because we practically scalded ourselves trying to wash sand off our feet coming back from the beach. (Had not seen the instructions.) Trying to shower in the morning, again, having missed the instructions, I was unable to get the shower warm enough, meanwhile the deluge from the rain shower and curtain that did not remain inside the tile lip, got the entire bathroom floor wet. This is totally unnecessary. Again, there are so many things that can be done with plumbing in old buildings. Even a longer shower curtain or providing a handheld shower in addition to the rain shower - would solve a lot of headache and mess while still keeping with the theme. Not sure if this was just our room, or the main building, or all properties.

Sweet little cottage a block walk to the beach. Had everything we needed for a 2 day stay. Comfortable bed and great shower! Full size refrigerator with kitchen essentials allowing meals prep with we utilized one night. Gas fire place not working, but other than that it was a perfect getaway! Front desk very friendly and offered a room move to accommodate the non working fireplace which we declined as the small wall heaters were efficient and weather was mild. I would definitely recommend this little cottage!

Room was very generous but there were issues. Fireplace smelled of gas and the darn thing blew up once it ignited! Shower was tiny and if you didn’t block the spray with your body it was all over the floor. The kitchen sink was leaking, the ice maker made a leaking water sound that was so loud you could hear it inside the room while sleeping. I put in ear plugs, problem solved. Then there was the homeless person van on Jacks sitting outside the main window. Loved the location and the free Tesla charger! It was a mixed bag for sure

The King Seaview at their courtyard location. It was in a great location a short and fun walk to the beach. You could even see the top of Haystack. Rooms and bed were amazingly comfortable. Service from front desk and management was top notch. We will be back!!

Can’t fault the location. Property a little tired and the cleaning of the kitchen /bathroom could improve. Bed comfortable and the area is quiet. It’s about 1 block from the sea.

The shower facilities were too small, poor, and uncomfortable, the sink was cracked, the bathroom facilities were generally poor, there was no refrigerator or coffee maker, and room was so cold that I had a hard time sleeping because of the bad smell when I turned on the heater. I often stay at hotels, but this hotel had the worst facilities for the price.
