Let me first state that every member of staff that my wife and I had an interaction with, were great, especially Valentine and the team at the Cast Iron, who were superb. We were let down for the room we booked, which you gave us a very generous gifted apology for. I stayed at the St-Pierre in the early to mid 2000s, when I was working on the Type 45 Frigates for BAE Systems, I don't beleive it has changed much. The TV says its a smart TV, but there are no apps, no Netflix, Prime etc. Luckily I always take my laptop, however the sockets at the sides of the bed are still round pin!! Although our superior lake view balcony room was ready to move into on the 2nd day, the builders were still working on the other rooms around us, continually coming round the front of our lakeside balcony to get to the back of the other rooms. We paid for breakfast, of which my wife was only having Frosties and I was having porridge. There was no porridge for the last two mornings, and no Frosties for the last morning. We are not late sleepers, usually up for breakfast around 7-7:30, so not like we were at the tail end of the breakfast period. The first night we went to the restaturant, there was no fish, no Korean chicken burgers, and a couple of other mains. If I was marking purely on the staff, it would be a 10.

Nice hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lots of parking. Bed was too hard for me and we had the superior room with lake view which in the morning the ducks arevreally loud also could hear everything in the next bedroom.

The hotel room was dirty, soiled linen and also an animal in the room either a squirrel or rat making a s watching noise which frightened the children and resulted in no sleep. This was reported to the hotel and they requested we take up with hotels.com

Greeting at reception was nice and friendly. Main entrance and hotel reception area very nice. Our room was quite a way from the main hotel. Room was ok - underwhelming for a superior room, but adequate for a one night stay. Evening meal very enjoyable although service was average as waitress seemed not to be very happy. Walking back from hotel was very dark. Did ask reception if someone could drive us back, but was told she was the only one on duty. Overall quite nice.

Nice hotel in great location

We liked the gym and pool, and the cast iron restaurant was good, the location was great, and the staff were helpful. A couple of things that stopped us giving a higher rating - there was a sticky stain on the sheets when we arrived (which they came and changed) and a blue sticky substance on one of the towels. We also ordered room service from the bar menu and the food was disappointing and did not match the description (like regular fries rather than sweet potato fries).

Great but really for golfers not romance

This is a lovely hotel but clearly orientated towards serving the golf club. We had hoped for a more settled and refined (romantic) weekend and I don’t think this was right for that. The room was comfortable and the bed very much so. Slightly misleading that it was advertised as (and paid for) having a courtyard view; it didn’t due to the nature of the obscured glass and if the door was open then there was a loss of privacy. The courtyard was also the vehicular route to check in so was sometimes busy. The staff were all lovely and cheerful. In a check-in survey I commented that it was unusual to not have a fridge and member of housekeeping then brought one over so they acted on feedback. One person on reception when we arrived and she was doing really well at managing quite a queue, well done. The breakfast was excellent.

Over priced stay!

There was no air conditioning within the room which was not good in hot weather, there was a desktop fan but this didn’t help much at all. The room was spacious and the bed very comfy, but the bathroom smelt of the drains and the shower pressure was poor
