Everything was good about hotel maybe the only thing was our heating didnt work in room but we did have a heater that plugs in socket so that kept the room cosy, it was central to all shops and bars, staff lovely. Will be back to visit again xx

Ended up getting room 115 & the outside was extremely noisy with people shouting outside from the bar. I telephoned reception to be moved to another room & was told that was not possible due to being fully booked. Toilet chain would not flush. When I handed the key back to receptionist upon checking out I was asked how was your stay. I explained the situation & was told it would be looked into. Still waiting…

The hotel staff were lovely.The hotel nice and clean. We stayed over Christmas, including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We were on the second floor and EVERY morning at 5.30 the noise from an outside bin waggon/ bottle wagon woke us up, it was horrendous and went on for 25 mins! Not the best way to start Christmas Day Especially as this was my first Christmas not working for over 10 years not caring for terminally ill people. I did mention this to the receptionist and the fact since I have read similar reviews about certain rooms, her reply was we can not help outside noise. I understand that but if you know the issue.. why book them out to customers? Especially over Christmas? I guess I was the unlucky guest this time! 5.30 for three days running and no sleep is no Christmas spirit.

Staff are always friendly and helpful. They remembered me from a previous visit. Rooms are clean, well presented and accessible (lift). Hotel is right outside the station, and a short distance from the centre of town. Breakfast offers continental or full English (best bacon ever). Loved playing solitaire in the bar - small selection of games/packs of cards available. Lovely place to stay. Highly recommended.

Very friendly staff; very welcoming at check in and were helpful when we asked to leave our cases/bags after check out. The room was clean (3rd floor) and had everything we needed. The bathroom was a tad dated but obviously due to the age of the hotel. We stayed mid week so no problems with noise etc. The hotel is ideally sited within 2 min walk from the station. Would definitely stay here again.
