The village is the perfect base for hill walkers and hikers of all ages and abilities, and a short drive takes you to the cliffs at Slieve League which at 601m high are one of the highest marine cliffs in Europe with truly breath-taking views from the summit. Just a short drive away is the village of Teelin, once Ireland’s main fishing port, but now that title has been awarded to the town of Killybegs just a little further afield. Here you will find some of Donegal’s best seafood, which should only be washed down with a pint of Guinness! Carrick is the perfect base for touring this county with the historic village of Glencolumbkille a short drive away and a little further takes you to Adara. Carrick also has many beaches within close proximity, as well as the beautiful Glen River which offers fishing and idyllic waterfalls.
