The space
A beautiful traditional cottage in the tranquil village of New Galloway, this is the ideal place to unwind and relax.

The town has a vibrant arts and music culture based on the Catstrand Centre which is only fifty metres or so from the cottage. The village shop, handily located only yards from the cottage is well stocked with everything you will need during your stay.

New Galloway sits in the Ken Valley and has wonderful outlooks to the surrounding hills and Forestry Commission Woodlands. The area makes a superb base for holidays whether it be for exploring the woodlands to see wonderful wildlife or enjoying quiet peaceful walks or cycling.

Golfers are spoilt for choice with the New Galloway golf course only 200m or so from the house and numerous other courses within easy reach. Water sports are also well catered for at Loch Ken which is within easy reach either for angling or sailing with the Galloway Activity Centre providing tuition and hire craft for all to enjoy at all levels of capability. The area was the first to be awarded Dark Skies Park status, which due to the lack of light pollution enables the Milky Way and other constellations to be easily seen!

The Cottage:
On the ground floor is the kitchen, lounge and bathroom all served by central heating, with a lovely open fireplace in the lounge. Upstairs are two large bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with two singles. There are plenty of board games available to use (stored in the lounge coffee table) and BIKES stored externally for the guests use.

Outside is a covered seating area, BBQ, and parking space. Perfect for star gazing on a clear night!

Kitchen
Newly renovated cottage kitchen with oak worktops, belfast sink, dining table, hob & oven, washing machine, fridge and all necessary kitchen equipment including kettle, toaster, pots and pans, wine glasses, dining sets etc.

Lounge
Cosy lounge with electric style wood burner, three seater sofa and armchair, coffee table with games inside for use by guests. Smart TV with free view.

Bathroom
Newly renovated bathroom with mains fed rain head POWER SHOWER.

Bedroom 1
Large bedroom with a king size bed, draws for storage, velux window overlooking the Glen Kens. Blackout blinds to the velux windows.

Bedroom 2
Large bedroom with two single beds, velux window with blackout blinds, dressing table.

Outside
Sheltered seating area with patio furniture and BBQ. Bikes (2x adults, 1x children's) are available for guests to use whilst at the cottage, the perfect way to explore the area. 1x parking space available at the side of the cottage, or plenty of on street parking nearby. Additional outside store to rear of the cottage hosts the tumble dryer.

Things to do
Situated in the heart of the charming village of New Galloway with its shops, theatre, pubs and general amenities. Golf course within 500m walk away. Lochs & walking routes scatter the nearby area, with a water park activity centre 5min drive away for boats, kayaks, fishing, water park & swimming. Plenty of local rivers & lochs for swimming. Castle Douglas a 20min drive away, a small town that provides supermarkets / restaurants etc. Several local pubs and restaurants within a short drive or bike ride away.
Guest access
Parking is to the side of the cottage, although the lane down to the house is very narrow. It is sometimes easier to park on the road and walk down the lane 20m to the cottage front door. Keys are provided via a lockbox at the property.
