AVOID AT ALL COSTS

BEWARE! The pictures on the website do NOT look anything like the rooms. I was visiting Castlegar for work this week, and made the mistake of staying at this Sandman location. The hotel is run down to the ground, my room was a "queen suite", but I found bed bugs on the bed and the sofa/couch had bodily stains all over it. Overall the room was in horendous shape - kind of felt like a motel if I'm being honest. The gym is hardly a gym, rather its a storage closet with dingy lighting and 3 pieces of cardio equiment jammed in there, and none of them worked properly. What a horrible experience. Front desk was rude/aburpt and unwilling to help. The GM was nice enough to move to me to another room, which was not all that better. I even tried to leave the hotel for another hotel down the street, but given the fact that I had already paid on Hotels.ca Sandman refused to refund me so I ended up staying. I will never stay at another Sandman again after this horrible experience. Dont let the pictures fool you.

The room was ok but the TV was small and the cable system sucks, old and crappy to operate, they also have constant pop up commercials that display on the screen constantly and take up 1/3 of the screen, which blocks whatever show you are watching.. extremely annoying. When I booked the room, it included breakfast but when I got here, was advised that because I booked through Expedia, the breakfast is not included and they wanted to charge me for a CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST....seriously, that is pretty sad. Would not stay here again, lots of better places nearby.

Great Pool + Comfy Bed

Comfy bed, Spacious room, Great tub/bathroom. A little out of date in hallways/exterior but room was great! Lots of parking with side doors closer to the room was a plus, and right across the street from food/shoppers. Not super busy either compared to the other hotels in the area i saw. The pool + hot tub was fantastic and why i chose this one. Happy with my stay!
