For broader exploration of Lake Chapala region, having a car is helpful—mountain towns like San Antonio Tlayacapan and Jocotepec are short drives. Guadalajara International Airport (Miguel Hidalgo) is approximately 90 minutes away by car via highway 200, the main route connecting the Chapala shoreline to the city. Local colectivos (shared vans) run regularly along the main road if you prefer not to drive. Taxis are available and reasonably priced for trips into Ajijic or surrounding areas. The property's caretaker and staff can arrange transportation assistance and provide guidance on the best routes and timing for local exploration.
