Great weekend stay

Stayed in Chester for the weekend to watch our children take part in the marathon. Hotel is in a great location right next to a lovely park & near all the shops and sights. Bed was so comfy and the shower was amazing! They catered well for gluten free at breakfast although a gf sausage would have been nice (they are so readily available these days) The bacon etc was "help yourself" but people were using the same tongues to pick them out as the hash browns which weren't gf. Please be mindful of cross contamination. I just used my fork and it was all delicious. We hired a mobility scooter from Shopmobility and it had been delivered to the hotel before we arrived - so efficent and the lady on reception was really friendly & helpful throughout the stay. All in all a very enjoyable stay and we would definitely recommend the Hotel Indigo

We felt spoilt , as when asked by the lovely lady, greeting us as we entered the hotel, she asked were we celebrating anything and we said our 45th wedding anniversary. WoW a complimentary drink to start and really attentive staff when we were having our meal The meal was fantastic too :)

Bed is too high. Forbes Restaurant was closed all 3 nights due to shortage of restaurants staff. we were there 3 nights so very disappointing.

Bed extremely comfy and room immaculately clean. Nice touch with free drinks and snacks. Only issue was the air con was very loud and the light system was quite complicated when going to the loo on the night.

Think twice before you stay here

A poor experience. I was with colleagues working in chester so we tried to book a table in the restaurant at 7.30pm and was told ‘we can’t take any more bookings because we don’t have enough staff - its like this all the time and you should complain’. There were very few tables occupied??? In additionI left a beard trimmer, a jumper (inexpensive M&S approx £40) and a T-shirt (expensive Acne Studio approx £150) in my room. When i got home and realised, i rang the hotel who asked me where i had left things - i was very explicit and said ‘beard trimmer in bathroom next to sink, and items of clothing in wardrobe’. Reception said they would check with housekeeping. They called back and said nothing was left in the room and said perhaps housekeeping hadn’t seen the items or didn’t look in the bathroom or wardrobe. Not sure what they meant by this, because i would expect housekeeping to get the room ready for the next guest which typically means cleaning it and checking nothing has been left in the room. Very poor service. The staff in the restaurant actually asked me to make a formal complaint. The last time I left an item in a hotel (i travel for work a lot) the hotel contacted me amd then said they would ship the item to my home address - thats service.

Overriding positive is the staff. Can't name all of them, but breakfast and evening dinning staff all excellent. Reception very efficient and friendly. Bar staff Sam & Annie superb. Well done all.
