I had 2 separate stays at Maison de Chine, one night first, then I left for a night to visit Alishan and came back for one more night at this hotel. The first night, they gave me a room on the 5th floor, it was one of the old rooms, which has not been renovated in many years. It felt too humid and the old carpet wasn't pleasant. Not at all what I would expect from a 4-star hotel. For my second stay, I got a room on a higher floor that was recently renovated, and it was so much better. Otherwise, the hotel is conveniently located near the night market and train station. They graciously held my luggage for a day while I was visiting Alishan.
