2/10 Terrible

My experience at Hyatt Regency Chicago was flat-out unacceptable. I booked interconnected two-queen rooms well in advance, and when I arrived, they casually told me they were “over-committed” — meaning they knowingly sold rooms they didn’t have. Instead of honoring the reservation I paid for, they forced me into two king rooms on the same floor as if I should just take whatever scraps they offer. This is Hyatt, not some budget motel — yet the service felt worse than one.
What made it even more pathetic was the complete lack of basic hospitality. Not a single staff member offered help with our luggage. They simply said “everyone is gone,” leaving us standing there after a long trip with no assistance whatsoever. For a major downtown hotel that charges premium prices, this level of service is embarrassing.
Hyatt Regency Chicago clearly doesn’t respect guests, doesn’t care about honoring confirmed reservations, and has shockingly poor management. I expected professionalism — instead, I got excuses, disorganization, and zero customer service. An absolute disappointment.
