One of the Worst Hotel Stays – Avoid at All Costs I rarely write negative reviews, but this hotel truly warrants a warning to future travelers. From the moment we arrived, the experience was disappointing. We tried tomcheck in at 3pm , we were told our room wouldn't be ready until 4pm. When we returned an hour later, we were given a room that still hadn't been cleaned — dirty sheets, unemptied trash, and an overwhelming musty odor. The hotel itself is old, tired, and clearly neglected. The furnishings are worn, the carpets stained, and everything just feels run-down. It’s clear this place is in desperate need of a full renovation — both in terms of infrastructure and management. If you’re considering staying here, don’t. If you do stay here, you will remember this review and say to youself, he wasn't kidding. There are far better options nearby and you’ll save yourself the regret. I am not picky when it comes to hotels but would never stay here again.

We stayed at Harrison Lake Hotel and while the front desk staff was polite at check-in, the room itself was unacceptable. The washroom had mold, the ceiling was falling apart, and the entire property is poorly maintained. The room had stains, the nightstands hadn’t been wiped down and still had marks from previous guests, the fridge was dirty, and the drapes were literally falling apart. The bed sheets were wrinkled and did not feel fresh or clean, which made me very paranoid about hygiene. This was one of the most uncomfortable hotel stays I’ve ever had. I would not recommend staying here until they address these serious cleanliness and maintenance issues.

Looks like it was once a nice, higher end property. It appears that zero money has been or is being spent to update, which is reflected in the price. Hot rooms in the summer. Hit or miss on air-conditioning that works. Not on the lake but a short walk. Parking available.

Very old building. Oops rattled and banged when you flushed the toilet. Hallway carpet was very dirty and the whole place needs a renovation.

Absolutely Not Worth the Savings

This hotel was a last-minute, budget-friendly booking—but it ended up being the most unpleasant stay I’ve ever experienced. Let’s start with the photos I did take: black mould in the bathroom, a rotting cabinet, carpets so stained they looked like abstract art, and even cockroaches. Unfortunately, the things I didn’t catch on camera were just as bad: a rusting, flaky sink drain, a cracked bathtub, and walls covered in mysterious stains and marks. Yes, it was cheap. But there’s a difference between “no frills” and “health hazard.” This place crossed the line. If you’re considering staying here, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere—even if it means spending a little more. Your peace of mind (and possibly your health) will thank you.

Cant do much about the weather, rainy. Hotel comfortable with added bonus of free underground parking and guest free entrance to the community hot pools. Hotel quiet, central location, beds comfortable, top floor with air conditioning unit supplied. Dining area but we ate elsewhere. My only complaint - hotels want guest to reuse towels which is great, but there is never a spot to hang wet towels!! So i take travel clothes line and pegs

The fire equipment does not appear to be up-to-date, or in some cases functional. This is problematic given how overloaded the sockets are with breaker-less extenders. This hotel is a safety hazard. Do not stay here.

Very unsanitary. Period blood on the blankets. Ceiling tile in the bathroom was open. I actually wore flip flops in the shower for once. The front desk guy was pretty nice but thats it.
