Affordable, comfortable older motel

We stayed at Ace on the way to Victoria and then again on the way back. It’s an old, but comfortable motel. Nothing fancy, but affordable. The people at the desk were very friendly and efficient and remembered us when we returned 3 weeks later.

We were told we would have an upper floor room but when we arrived they said not possible. They re checked and took us to see an upper room. We required a fridge and it did not seem to work. We decided to just stay on the main floor. We had to ask that the counters be cleaned as they were sticky upon arrival. Otherwise, for one night, our room was fine.

Reception was friendly and efficient. Older building that is kept in good repair. Air Conditioner was on high and room was very frigid when we first arrived. It was a hot day but was uncomfortable for the first 1/2 hour. Good location with nearby amenities.

Sink would not empty, fridge didn't work. heat/fan didn't work, dirty bathroom, not enough towels/facecloths, noisy. The only positive was the front desk attendant was kind and generous!
