We Love the Lemon Cooler!

This is our second time coming to stay at the Lemon Cooler. We have stayed at many houses over the years but came back to this one for the privacy. The house is beautiful, well equipped and close to everything.

Perfect Home!

We had such a perfect week at this home! It was ideal for our large family with kids ranging from 2-13 years old! The pool was such a great break from the beach and we even called Adult Swims because we loved it so much! I would definitely stay again!

Great house

We had a wonderful week. Very open with kitchen and living room on top floor. Beautiful views from the spacious decks. Very private; not very close to neighbors. Huge plus is it’s dog friendly. We will definitely be back.

It was big enough for all of us , but wasn't as clean as I'm use to. there were cobwebs everywhere and the big table that we ate at was dirty. We had to wash it before we could use it, it was real sticky all over, even on the sides.

An absolutely wonderful week. Perfect weather. The house had everything we needed. Spacious, clean and well equipped. Had an issue with the pool heater, but it was taken care of immediately. Would highly recommend to a large family.

The house has plenty of space for a large crowd. There was 14 of us and you never felt crowded. Pool and hot tub were fun, kids love them. House is not to far from stores and shops. Plenty of amenities in kitchen and house was clean. Overall, great house.

My large family had a wonderful time staying in this home. There was plenty of room for us to all hang out together upstairs & by the pool. The teens in our group enjoyed being able to have their own space, as well. While the elevator was meant to accommodate the 82yr old with us, it proved to be a big help for the entire family. Beach access is close, but the walk back to the house on HOT pavement with tired, sandy kids taught us that our 4x4 beach permits were priceless! The listing doesn't mention a high chair being there, but there is. There's also a few pool floats & beach gear available for use. We will definitely recommend this property to anyone interested in staying in Corolla.

The house interior layout was very nice. All rooms were cleaned well when we arrived. AC worked well. Garbage collection days should be posted. Trash cans were labeled Wed/Sat when actual was Mon/Fri (We left a note on fridge for next occupants)Kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, etc. for our group of 14 (8 adults 4 kids). We did notice lots of spiders during our week stay. Cob webs visible on vaulted ceilings.Pool area was adequate (not overly appealing). Pool/Hot Tub was serviced on day of our arrival and again mid-week. Area where volley ball court was unkempt and loaded with sandspurs (unable to walk on sand with bare feet). Overall we had a favorable experience and enjoyed our stay.

Third floor wooden elevator door needs repairing(shimmed or removed and shaved). Dining tables need to be properly refinished non sticking finish. Everything place on this table stuck like glue. Other than the above all was perfect. This was our third time staying at the Lemon Cooler. We prefer the Corolla area as all was within a great distance from our stay.

Great house. Had everything we needed. It coukd have been cleaner. A couple of maintenace issues which were mostly resolved. A broken freezer icemaker that was replaced, but still didnt work. Thank goodness for second fridge/freezer in lower level.

Great experience

This was are first time vacationing in the obx and it was a great time. Everyone loved it here especially enjoying the pool at this home. It had plenty of outdoor space around the pool and all the deck space was great to have. The house was great, unfortunately we were told the group before was rough on the house and few things broke and went wrong but the maintenance group was awesome in responding and staying on top of things. We understand things like this can happen with houses being rented every week and it’s just not possible for homes to be inspected from top to bottom. They were all minor things and definitely did not stop us from enjoying are time at this home. Not to far of a walk to the beach, although that is are goal for next year is to be on the beach. But if not this is the house we will be back at for sure

Over all very good

The House was not ready when we arrived at 4, so that was disappointing. The cleaning lady felt rushed so we feel she did not clean as well, because of it. The elevator was not working until Thursday and all that was need was for it to be reset, feel like that could have been taken care of earlier in the week so that we could have used it more, since we had someone who needs it for health reasons.

Family Vacation

House location and amenities were ideal for the type of restful vacation we were trying to have. Unfortunately, the cleanliness aspect of the house was a little disappointing. While the rooms and bathrooms were clean, the common areas were not up to par and a little dingy. We constantly had to swipe the sofas for sand every time we sat down from the moment we got there. Also, all of the floors were sandy when we arrived as well. We did sweeping when we left and the house was cleaner than when we arrived. Also, the backyard was filled with these prickly weeds that made it difficult to play in the yard. There were also large branches sticking out of the volleyball court that were very dangerous and could not be removed. Either way, we enjoyed our time together and made the best of it.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the house and the location of the house. However, when we first arrived the house was not clean...We spent the first day of our vacation cleaning the entire house. Many of the dishes in the cabinets were dirty, the counter tops had dirty stuff on it, and the dining room table was filthy, as well as many of the floors needed cleaning. The hot tub was not working properly so we were unable to use it. This was a family vacation to celebrate our 25th anniversary with a renewal of our vows on the beach. The Outer Banks is a beautiful spot with this house being close to the beach and the 4x4 beach for seeing the wild horses and close to the Corolla Lighthouse. The house is big and very nice as well as well stocked with dishes and cookware. The only complaint we have for our entire trip is the cleanliness of the house upon our arrival could have been better. When we left, we cleaned the entire house so the new incoming guests would be able to spend every minute enjoying the beautiful views and everything this house has to offer.

Disappointed

Upon arrival the AC not working we called realtor they sent one of there people then he said he would call HVAC so hopefully by Sunday get service. The pool was not ready the hot tub was green i told realtor, they said they would put a call in but couldn’t say if anyone would come. The WiFi was down and tv,s not working that was another call so they had to walk us through the fuse box location so we could reset everything. The master bed that had a king bed had queen size sheets so that was another call I got an attitude from the woman who was covering the Sunday phone she seemed to question why we wanted King sheets. Oh there were clothes in the drawers in the bathroom and a diaper under the bed. This was a stressful vacation we never received a call back from anyone to check if there was anything else. The floors were dirty and the sofas had sand on them. We will not be staying in Corolla again.

Nice house

This is a nice house, but not a great handicap accessible house. Down falls. 1)only 2 handicap accessible showers. 2) they only 2nd deck access is through the media room which is a pain if someone is watching a movie or playing game. 3) the pool gameroom entry sliding door is very small and not easily accessible for a person with a rolater or wheel chair. The tub/shower in 2nd floor queen is a pain to get into and out of. I took my 82 year old disabled mother to meet up with her 83 yr old disabled sister. We made the best of it and it is a nice house with a fully stocked kitchen (that needs organized). The bedrooms are all nice, but the furniture is too big to have handicaped ppl maneuver their rolaters. I would suggest redoing some bathrooms to make them more handicapped accessible and I highly suggest to add to the 2nd floor deck from front porch around to meet the 2nd tier deck. That would make it so much easier for all 4 of 2nd level bedrooms to access the deck. The pool and hot tub were great. I suggest better pictures of the bathroom/showers on the website as well. It is a really nice house, it was just difficult for my mother and my aunt to maneuver through the small sliding glass doors and to the bathrooms in their bedrooms.
