We loved the large size of the disabled guest room. Our room was on the first floor of the old The Place Hotel. We had a view of the channel and were able to actually see the ships go by. The Breakfast lady Debbie was very sweet and helpful. She was also telling us about the area and the best restaurants to dine. Unfortunately, we had trouble with the entrance to the hotel. The doors were very heavy to open for anyone disabled. There were no buttons to push for them to open like at the Lydia. Hopefully, they will be added in time. I went to get ice but there is no ice machine in the building so they worker there said I would have to go the other building to find some.

The hotel is a good place to stay. The only issue, right at 5:40a, guests and staff start moving around where a person cannot sleep in past 6:30 or 7a. Otherwise, we had a good time! This wasn't our first time nor will it be our last. This is a great hotel to stay for vacation, hang out at the beach, or just getting away from it all!😎Thx again!

Was nervous to book for the low cost and a few reviews.. but wow .. it’s was way nicer than what the pics show and the room was perfect, beds comfortable and coffee provided in the am. Cross the steet in the morning walked to the marina and jumped on a skiff and stick some beautiful reds..

We were very excited to stay at the new portion of the hotel. The rooms are lovely and clean except for a towel that had dirt on it. Esthetically, it's a nice place. We were very disappointed with the beds that were so soft we sunk, and we're not overweight. The wall construction is paper thin. We could hear conversation next door, outside, and the snoring guests on either side of us. I wish we had a better stay that was restful.

The room was incredibly large, the staff great and bed was reasonably comfortable. Our issues were terrible interior lighting (one light didn’t work and what did wasn’t sufficient. The carpet needed to be cleaned as my socks and feet got dirty walking around in it. But other than that, I’d say it was great. I told the front desk when we left (2 night stay) and they were very receptive to my comments.

We come to Port A every year, chose this hotel as a new place to stay. We booked a deluxe room & upon entering the room it smelled like wet dog & mildew. We asked to try another room. The attendant was polite & let us try another room. It smelled as bad as the first room. We figured it was the carpet. He told us that building was scheduled for renovations & that the other building had just been renovated. We had selected the deluxe room because of cigarette smoke allergies & figured no one would be outside our door smoking. People stood right outside the front door & smoked. 1st day there a lady sat in her lawn chair by the front door & smoked for hours. We took a chance on the Prime room in the renovated building & there were no smells. We did get charged more for the "newness". The decor was nice. We had two queen beds. Both beds were uncomfortable. When lying down, a hump would form in the middle, causing you to feel like you were going to fall out of the bed. It was difficult to find a comfortable spot to sleep. The light blocking curtains were terrible. There was a very bright light outside the room all night and the curtains didn't block the light at all. I had to take pillows from the couch & stuff them along the window sill to try to block the light. I wish I'd picked the pool hotel instead. The breakfast was continental, nothing special.
