You won’t want to leave this charming, one-of-a-kind walkout patio suite with ocean views.
Located in beautiful Cowichan Bay, this suite has its own entrance, bedroom, living room, bathroom. No kitchen, has a small fridge, hotplate, kettle, toaster, pot and dishes. The suite is not separate, but is joined by an open stairwell. Guests are not allowed upstairs to the owner's living area. A blow up mattress (surprisingly comfortable) is available on request for sleeping in the living room. Wonderfully cool. Walkout to a relaxing patio for your morning coffee. Access to the unit involves walking around the house from the driveway, downhill on the lawn to the patio entrance below. Not suitable for those with mobility issues. Wonderfully quiet yard for relaxing and enjoying the ocean breezes and views.

We stayed four days in this walkout suite directly after a cruise ending in Vancouver, BC.The suite is very basic, but the location is excellent. It's about a 8 minute walk from the village of Cowichan, where you can find several casual dining restaurants and shops. The bakery is the best!!!! The patio is beautiful with views of the water.I was disappointed when we arrived after check-in time, and our hosts seemed surprised to see us. Our suite needed sweeping and dusting. there were cob webs in the bathroom, bedroom and hallway . All the storage spaces were filled with family stuff. The bed creaks, but I had good sleeps on it. To enter the suite, you have to walk around the side of the house across a sloped lawn. There isn't a lighted path when it gets dark, so be sure to have a flash light or phone if you're out after dark.

Wonderful location just a short walk to the main strip of Cowichan Bay. Suite was clean and well maintained but a couple of things are in need of an update. The area is very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The unit has A/C but we did not need to use it. The local, ground coffee was a nice touch. We would not hesitate to stay with Sylvia and William again.

A quiet retreat

This was precisely what we were looking for. We had breakfast on the patio every morning and enjoyed th quiet and the wildlife. We were also very close to the main street of Cowichan Bay,and an easy drive to Duncan where our daughter's family lives.

My partner and I stayed at this property for two nights on the long Canada Day weekend. Our host Sylvia was very easy to communicate with and kindly accommodated all of our needs including our delayed arrival.

Quaint Getaway!

Lovely location, easy walking to the marina, shops and restaurants. The property is tucked off the road so is quite quiet! The accommodation is cozy and quaint and was just as described - perfect for curling up on the loveseat (or recliner) reading a novel and enjoying the view! It has a lovely little fireplace heater for ambiance, too! (It was rainy and chilly for part of our trip so this was a bonus!) I discovered beautiful little walking paths throughout Cowichan and we had the added pleasure of listening to the sea lions in the Bay! I would love to return to this location - Sylvia is a very approachable and welcoming host!

Convenient to Cowichan Village

Nice little spot for visiting Cowichan Bay. Owner is still working on perfecting such items as access and parking. Currently a bit of a challenge for anyone with mobility issues or limited parking skills. It is the downstairs suite with private exterior entry- upstairs is occupied ( by the owner, we believe). She is lovely and we had no objection, but if you thought a VRBO was supposed to be “all yours”, that is apparently not completely accurate. Would recommend for a single/couple/couple with a small child.

Cowichan Bay

This is a basic property, bar fridge, kettle hot plate. One bedroom and a bathroom with shower. Very quiet, excellent location. Walking distance to the main road and shops. I would recommend if you aren't looking for fancy, and don't mind that the upstairs owners suite isn't secured from basement suite. Sylvia was a good host for what we needed!

Cowichan Bay Retreat

Our check in was very easy. The property owner contacted us previous to our arrival and met in person to go through the propertywith her. The suite was very clean and everything that was portrayed on line. The front patio and coffee in the AM with view of the bay was incredible. We would definitely recommend to all this is truly a hidden gem.
