Carefree Cottage is a private guest house on a three-acre lake-front estate. Explore landscaped gardens, bamboo forest, scenic decks and floating docks over Zen pond and Lake Lanier. Enjoy our paddle boat, 2 paddleboards, kayak or bring your own boat to tie up to our private dock. Beautifully updated, fully-equipped kitchen, sleek modern decor, private screened porch, silky bamboo linens await you.

This property has been featured in several magazines and was voted "Atlanta's Coolest Backyard" in a landscape design competition. Zen pond is the focal point and is surrounded by a forest of towering bamboo, graceful Japanese Maples, Ginko and Cedar trees. Enjoy the waterfall and fountain from the round dock while you feed the fish, turtles and ducks (food provided) that live in the pond. Delight in nature’s soundscape of birds, crickets and frogs as you explore the landscaped gardens, terraces and bamboo forest.

Enjoy Lake Lanier from our private dock where you have access to lounge chairs, floats, hammock, and a paddle boat for exploring the cove. There’s room at the dock to bring your own boat (or rental) if you’d like. It’s a very gentle walk down to the dock. The water is deep and wonderful for swimming in the warmer months.

The Carefree Cottage has been completely renovated with comfortable, modern decor. Prepare meals in the well-equipped full kitchen kitchen or treat yourself to the wide variety of nearby restaurants (delivery and takeout available). Sink into the silky softness of bed linens, bathrobes and towels made from versatile, sustainable bamboo. Upstairs is a separate bedroom with a queen bed, and a full bath with walk-in shower. Downstairs is the main living and dining area with an open kitchen. The sofa in the living area coverts to a bed.
