This 4 bedroom / 2 bath retreat sleeps 13. Only 35 minutes from Auburn/Opelika. Great for school breaks, summer vacations, Auburn events (football, graduation, rush, etc.).

The spacious indoor and outdoor space allows for a peaceful getaway. Watch the sunrise and sunset and view the amazing wild life that Lake Martin has to offer - ducks, turtles, fish, geese, and even bald eagles. Local roads are paved and great for running/walking. Nature at it's finest draws in both adults and children.

- Some of the windows in the main living space are cloudy, blurring the view. Still stunning views though!
- The seawall at the lake has some lose capstone. Be careful
- No parking area is strictly prohibited for vehicles due to septic tank underground pipes

Memories at Sunset Peninsula

Wonderful place to enjoy the water and beautiful views in a serene quiet setting. It is near town which makes it easy to get provisions and grab something to eat. The property is level with no steps and directly on the water. The owners are very accommodating. Our next year’s visit is already booked!

Perfect Family Getaway

This was the perfect place for our family. The space the house provides in the living area was outstanding. The views were spectacular. The outside water toys were a hit with EVERYONE. We took 2 boats with us and had ample dock space for two. Host was fantastic to work with, The entire family has said “this is our new spot for our annual family LM trip”. The grands said “this IS the new Waterhouse”.

Wonderful lake house

This is a wonderful lake house for our grown kids and spouses to celebrate my husband's birthday. We hope to return soon when everyone's schedules clear at the same time again. The outdoor space, which is what is important to us, is amazing. The swim area, quiet slough, kayak, water pad, paddle board and decks were well used by our group. We had absolutely beautiful weather and it is where we spend the majority of our trip. Having three King beds and two queen beds (plus many more) was perfect for our group of 8 adults. The kitchen was well stocked as was the games. The living area, mostly windows looking at the lake, had the most seating I have ever seen....and the view- WOW! The leatherish couches were not my favorite but others in our group liked them and I enjoyed the other fabric couch and arm chairs. If you like to sit and watch TV (we turned it on one time in 4 days) they have you covered with a very large one. Our absolute favorite..... sitting on the lake front deck, in the Adirondack chairs, on the peninsula, watching the sunset and looking at the stars. We sat there drinking coffee in the morning too. You can see the fire tower from the front porch sitting also. If you are looking for a modern, minimally stocked rental- this is not for you. If you want a lake house that is stocked because the family actually uses it, where things are thought about for everyday functioning- book Sunset Peninsula.

Perfect Vaca Spot

This house is the perfect vacation place for family. Lots of comfy space inside and out. The living area is beyond fabulous - with 2 enormous sitting areas. Very child/baby friendly- so many things at the house that saves guest from having to pack. All if outside things was awesome also- kayaks, paddle board, large mat to float on. We will definitely be returning! Matt is very responsive and super nice.

Perfect in every way!

I stayed in this wonderful lake home the week before my son’s wedding at New Water Farm, and for several days after as the family celebrations continued. The home was convenient to the venue and everything we needed for last minute supplies. Beautiful lake views and the sunsets are spectacular. The owners are so friendly and responsive. We had awful weather- literally torrential rain and we still had the BEST TIME! Owner was always polite and available for the few issues we had ( related to weather). There were only four of us that stayed because my sister’s family of 13 had rented a house next door. I would love to come back again and fill up those beds with more family. There is so much common space that would be perfect for extra large families. Also, due to weather, we didn’t get to use all the great amenities that came with the house for going out on the water, but still managed lots of laughs and relaxing time.
