Breezy Vista on the Terrace - West Coast, St. James, Barbados. One Bedroom Apt.

'Breezy Vista on the Terrace', is a cool self-contained modern contemporary with a traditional-feel, apartment. The terrace gives our guest spectacular views over the Royal Westmoreland Community towards Holetown on the West Coast.

The one bedroom apt has a fully equipped kitchen /dinner that seats four, a living room with a sofa bed, and a patio with BBQ grill and gardens beyond.

The apartment faces the Breezy East Coast towards the prestige Apes Hill Development with the air conditioned bedroom facing towards the West Coast.

The private bathroom consisting of a two head rainfall-shower, basin, vanity & modern wc, and the wardrobe, storage & dressing areas, all perfectly laid out and ensuite with access to a washing machine & laundry room.

The apartment is excellent for those travelling solo, or couples, a young family with 2 children max. It is also ideal for long-term vacationers, or those on the Barbados 12-month Welcome Stamp Visa Program who can work remotely anywhere in the world. It is great for those ex-patriates and family of Barbadians in the UK, US, Canada, Germany, and other parts of the world.

The apartment adjoins the main house on the ground floor level to the side and is therefore secluded & private.

The apartment is situated 5 minutes from the North to South ABC & Ronald Mapp Highway, making the West and South Coast, Speightstown, Holetown and Warrens Shopping & Business Complexes very accessible via the many choices of public transport, however, dependent on budget, a small hired car will enhance your stay and we provide Free Parking on site.

A little about your host, Kelvin.

I was born and raised in Barbados to age 10 /11, when in 1971 I was whisked away on a very slow BOAC Trident Jet which took 13 long hours, to join our mother in Chiswick West London England. Soon after arrival we moved from Chiswick to Feltham Middlesex, where I attended secondary school.

My first employment after leaving school was as a 5-year Apprentice Trainee Electronic Wireman, and this included attendance at Kingston College of Further education where I sat and passed two papers gaining two City & Guilds of London Institute Certificates for my efforts, passed with Distinctions.

At 21, I had a change of direction and went into retailing with one of the UK's largest high street retailers. After eight months, I was invited onto the company’s Trainee Management Program, which included a short course of professional training in the phycology behind managing people.

Thirteen years later, my quest for knowledge and the buzz of a challenge took me into the more difficult art of Direct Salesmanship.

I became a father at 27 to the best son a father could wish for, and during an incredibly happy marriage I sadly became a widower at 48. Nearly 17 yrs on from that dreadful event, I am now a grandfather to two gorgeous little girls.

I have a love for all the creative arts and architecture and an interest in worldwide events. My lasting quest to learn new things and about people, took me travelling throughout the lengths and breath of the UK & Ireland, Western Europe incl Spain, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands [the Streets of Amsterdam a few times], Greece, Malta, the Americas [New York, Florida / Caribbean - Haiti, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel for a taste of Mexico, and Dubai for an introduction to the Middle-East, before returning to Barbados, which has always remained home, eight years ago.

Growing up and having a diversity of friends much wider than my limited travels, with different religious and cultural backgrounds, in addition to my travels from an early age, means that I have a very easy-going mindset, which is open to differences. My philosophy to life is, 'laughter at every opportunity, never take yourself, life or anything too seriously'. This is borne out through my long-suffering irrational love for a football club called; "Queens Park Rangers FC", but as I am one who like to see others doing well, and a closet glory hunter, I also support whichever team is at the top of their game and winning. I have a serious, focused, determined, and relentless work ethic that has always blinded me from playing as hard as I work; however, I do also enjoy kicking back with a rum/beer or five, and great stimulating conversation with good people.

The Neighbourhood:

The property sits on a terrace approx. 250ft above sea level, hence the title, "Breezy Vista on the Terrace", and stretches out from east to west, which means there is the benefit of a constant sea breezy to the occupants. The combine areas of Water Hall, St Silas, Deanes, Apes Hill & Westmoreland are classified as, "middle to upper income neighbourhoods", and retain some of the old-fashion ideals such as looking out for and ensuring the wellbeing of each other, which means our guess are assured of a comforting welcome, securities and pleasantries, as is typically synonymous with such neighbourhoods.

We arrived at the property in the late evening and were met by a very welcoming owner who invited myself and daughter into our chosen accommodation. Nothing can prepare you for the magnificent view we encountered on our first morning !!!! Everything you need is catered for (basically it was home from home) The area is very safe The property is extremely cool with all around fresh breezes keeping temperatures comfortable. Please don’t have any doubts staying here (Kelvin the owner) is extremely helpful and does everything to make your stay comfortable without intruding on your privacy. We will definitely book this little gem again If you are looking for a peaceful holiday with easy access to the west of the island then a stay here is highly recommended Thank you Kelvin you did yourself proud

Surfers Paradise

We wanted to stay on the northend but all the hotels and B&Bs were out of our budget. That was until we found Kelvin’s clean, safe and super cute home. It was just as described and the photos were correct. We went to a great dinner at the Fish Pot not too far away. Then relaxed watching Netflix on his smart tv the rest of the night. The next morning my husband found a great secret surfing spot! We will be back for sure. Thank you!
