The staff was really nice. We were given a suite on the towers, which was quite large. The problem was that in those days the elevator was out of service and we had to carry two huge suitcases up 3 flights of stairs. Furthermore, there is carpet everywhere and the room smelled a little bit (I think the reason was the old carpet). Overall a good experience in the Death Valley National Park.

Nice view, good food. No cold water for drinking from faucets at times- weird! Lots of attractive but highly unsustainable landscaping by the casitas.

Absolutely exceptional. Yes, the location is amazing, yes it is from the '20s (as in 1920s) with a long history and lots of stories. But what impressed us the most were the people. The staff went above and beyond the call of duty to make us feel welcome. Because of them a stay at this hotel feels like a special event. Gorgeous location, exceptional people.

Very nice classic hotel with beautiful gardens in the center of Death Valley. The building is very well maintained with mid-century period decor and our room was large and comfortable. The spring fed pool is always 80deg and there is a convenient sauna but no hot tub, unfortunately since it’s cold when sun sets. Probably the best place to stay in Death Valley.

Got there a couple hours after dark. The parking lot was very poorly lit - and too small. No signs, no indications as to where or how we were to get to the main entrance. Then, when I finally walked up a rather long ramp and found a bellman and a golf cart to get our luggage, we were taken to a room that still had cleaning equipment in it. We then had to move to another room. The staff, however, was great. The bar and bartender were great. Thanksgiving dinner, however, was a big disappointment. There was no dark meat, the stuffing looked and tasted like congealed poi, and the string beans came out of a can with some attempted doctoring.

Possibly the worst hotel experience of my life and I have travelled a lot throughout the world. They must consider hotel.com customers as their lowest priority customer. They put us in a room next to the antique squeaky elevator. The squeak was load frequent and unbearable and apparently a common issue. They should never book that room for anyone and turn it into a storage closet. When after waiting for about 2.5 hours if the elevator was going to be fixed or if they had another room with no answer and feeling totally ignored, we left. If you stay there make sure to book a view room as the non view rooms face a back parking lot and service area, and are tiny. Make sure to request a room not adjacent to thee elevator.

We stayed in a casita which was great because there was heavy rain so we could spread out inside. The casita was wonderful space wise. Furniture is a little stodgy but fine. Very clean. Staff was wonderful especially Michelle in the dining room who gave us a ‘tour’ of the artwork - original Remingtons etc. All the staff we encountered couldn’t have been nicer. Would come back again.
