Take it easy at this unique Canoe Creek Lodge. This property boasts 7 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms with indoor Fireplace, outdoor pool for summer months, Outdoor Hot Tub Jacuzzi and fully stocked pond with bluegill, bass, and brown trout (catch & release only). The lodge sits up above Canoe Creek with great trout fishing on its banks and overlooks the historical NE Iowa Canoe Creek Steel Bridge. Perfect for family getaway. Only 10 miles outside of Decorah Iowa and near the Upper Iowa River. This lodge is perfect for a large family getaway. Being one of the only properties in the area that sleeps 20+ people so you can all gather together in one place.
2 night min for weekends- no exceptions.
3 night minimum stay for weekends from Memorial day to Labor day weekend
Please note that this property is not BRAND NEW built. It does have wear and tear from being a full time rental property . It is priced according to it's beautiful location, several amenities and large space for families and seclusion.
We do have internet at the property, however at the time being it is satellite which is not high speed. -outdoor pool is only set up and available from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. May 23rd to Sep 2nd. It may be set up a week before and a week after that gap, weather and time permitting . If you want to find out If pool is up early for season or still up after season please message me first. The pool is not heated, but does have a solar cover on.

Beautiful location

We stayed for a family reunion of 8 adults. Having enough bedrooms and bath were perfect for the group. There was a little confusion getting the a/c units working but Gabby was great in helping get the task done. And to be honest there were some issues regarding cleanliness……not devastating at all…just little things which I communicated to Gabby privately. The location was beautiful. Wonderful countryside……two decks to enjoy the amazing number of different birds. One drawback was not having screens on the patio doors to be able to open them and enjoy the beautiful weather. The living area was open with high ceilings and let us sit together, or use the smaller area off the living room for different activities. We gathered around the large table every day for meals, games and camaraderie. The location is about a 12 minute drive to town. Overall we had a nice time. The house has a unique floor plan which adds to its charm. Glad we had the opportunity to experience it.

Very rustic

The property is very beautiful and would highly recommend for a summer stay. We saw deer and a pair of bald eagles! We were there for a work retreat so no cell service was not a concern as we did have Wi-Fi. The rustic cabin served our purpose.

Great spot

The scenery and proximity to the creek was excellent. Beautiful location. Cabin had some wear and tear, as expected. Hot tub was clean and functional, kitchen was well stocked, the whole place was comfortable and inviting.

A more scenic home away from home

This property had a very homestyle feel, as if you were going to Grandma’s for a stay! It had a relaxing & inviting feel 😌 The property was just beautiful & we loved the view from the deck & walking down to the creek just down the lane. The owner had very quick responses & I did like that there wasn’t an exhausting list of to-do’s before leaving the home, in fact, there was only 1- take the trash down to the central can! Would definitely stay here again & for sure would recommend!

Family Christmas Vacation

My family has opted for family adventures over individua Christmas gifts. This was the perfect size lodge for our family, with plenty of bedrooms, a large living area, and a nice kitchen and large dining table. And my grandkids loved the upstairs loft area! Having the hot tub and pool was a big plus. We made s’mores over the fire pit and saw many deer walk thru the yard. Only downfall was the online pictures of the pond were deceiving. My grandkids were extremely disappointed they could not fish in the pond. Overall, it was a great weekend and if you’re looking for a quiet getaway, I would highly recommend this venue.

Friend Gathering

We used it for 5 nights, had a great time. Plenty of room for our group of 14 to hang out. Mt pie supper, deer in the front lawn! Attractions close by in Decorah, Cunnings Park with waterfalls, the fish hatchery and a bit farther Pike's Peak along the Mississippi River [ 1 hr drive but worth it], also Island Park in the same area.

Relaxing Getaway

The house/cabin had just what we needed! Plenty of space for everyone to spread out and peaceful surroundings. Kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub, making smores in the firepit, and fishing the creek. Pond was heavier on the algae side to effectively fish, but our own pond at home gets that way sometimes and its just part of nature. :)

Perfect fall getaway
