Front door had to be opened by self, difficult when hands are carrying baggage and more. Front desk attendant was polite and we were sold an upgraded suite, $40 more for two nights in room #329. No elevator, two trips made by two to get all bags to room, had to go down stairs at lobby to then walk up stairs to get to 3rd floor. Another trip hazaod was walking up a step to get inside room. Upon entering room #329 a foul unpleasant odor engulfed the whole room, like a puke smell coming from the carpet. Fruit flys were everywher, the refrigerator had a dirty cup in it, the microwave was not clean and the bathroom did not smell any better. No fan! The tub didnt look too clean, nor did the sink. I ran the hot water in sink and shower for ten minutes and it was barely luke warm. Maintenance was called and it was the same until numerous minutes of fawcet turning finall gave way to warm water. I should have demanded a new room after all this happened but I was too tired and wasnt able to deal with hearing maybe nothing was available. I will never stay at this hotel again, it was a waste of my money and very disappointing. I thought that it would be a good place to stay, close to the wedding reception I was to attend on the island. If I had to do it again, I would choose a hotel further away that I know would not be a disappointment. A shame because interaction with all employees there wad very pleasant.

Horrible Hotel

The hotel was uncomfortable with second-hand store amenities. The place looked like an abandoned apt building and the only window in the hotel room looked out into a dirty hallway. Housekeeping smoking cigarettes on the job and patrons urinating in the parking lot. Very unsafe and unsettling . I checked out within 30 mins of my arrival

I had nothing but positive interactions with the hotel staff. The room itself was almost as advertised with the exception of not having cold faucet water...the water temperature ranged from luke warm at coldest to scalding hot. The hotel common areas have dark brown carpet which somehow managed to look filthy. Hotel was about 2 miles walk from Comerica/Ford Field. Let's go M's!
The bathtub/shower faucet was not attached to the wall and would move when showering. Slow drain meant your feet felt unsanitary.
The hotel room phone was missing the cord that connects the headset to the phone itself making it unusable.
Dark brown carpet in common areas managed to look worn and dirty.

I chose a Wyndham property because they are usually known for excellence. This was the exception. The area was not safe, the parking was limited, the room didn’t have a night light or hair dryer that worked and the entire place smelled of stale cigarettes. Not in my plans to return and I will ne more careful of Wyndham properties in the future
