The Shinola has become exceedingly more expensive over the past two years. Seemingly, with price increases of 30% or higher across the board on all their quest rooms and suites. I say this with a degree of confidence having frequented the property over the past three years. The major issue with this is that the rooms are becoming more and more rundown and neglected. Examples of this are evident on my last visit. The area rugs are both stained and unraveling at the corners, couches were stained, ottoman / table cushion fabric worn and deformed, sink was cracked, deep soaking tub would not drain. In addition, the in-room dining was disgusting and inedible. The lobster rolls were metallic tasting, the French fries were served old, cold, and literally hard as a rocks, and the meatballs were dry. I paid $110.00 with tip for that terrible trio. NEVER AGAIN! The industry is far too competitive for the Shinola to justify any of this. I’ve stayed at the Royal Park, Daxton, Townsend over the past four months in comparable rooms at or slightly below the $649.00 spent at the Shinola. Suffice to say this past stay will be my last stay at the Shinola. Unfortunately. This property has lost the once special feeling one would have staying at a “boutique” hotel and quite frankly the disappointment leaves me incredibly underwhelmed.

This was a great location and a wonderful property! Staff was great! Lobby and bar relaxing. Get on the street car or people mover and you can get anywhere. Walking around is safe and shopping is interesting.

Hi The final invoice I received @ 949am this morning was inaccurate on two counts. First, I had breakfast at the hotel this morning and they processed it right away. Also I was given a $50 credit when I checked in because my room was downgraded. When I checked out the woman said that the breakfast had been processed and that she had applied the $50 credit. I don’t see either of those things reflected in the invoice I received. Please send an updated, corrected final invoice. Thanks Michael
