Checking in was off putting, the person that checked me in on Sept/18/25 was acting as he was tsa or something, asking me to take off my mask among other things I’ve never experienced, but I got through that…on Sept/30/25 approx. 0915 I went out to the grocery store and when I returned I couldn’t get into my room when I arrived at the the counter to activate my key I was hit with the rudest and nasty looking person I’ve ever encountered and I travel all over this country for work. she had red faux dreads and was just a disgusting person I wanted to speak with the other person that was working I thought he was intervening bc of her nasty attitude, she activated one key I told her I needed two but she literally started helping another guest behind me the guest themself said “just go ahead and finish taking care of her” I said yep that’s the way it usually works. On Sept/19/25 I actually extended but had I encountered this person I definitely wouldn’t have. I must say as long as I’ve stayed with Woodspring this is the only time I’ve experienced such behavior.

Terrible pillows

Kiosk instead of manned front desk fron 5pm to 9am a negative. The pillows are the worst I've ever encountered, only 2/ bed and flat(useless). When asked for replacement at front desk was told everyone asks for replacements and there are none.

Overall it was a good stay, my TV didn’t work the first night but after I spoke to the front office staff they made sure it was fixed so I was appreciative of that. Clean and very convenient to things in Sterling Heights.

My husband was threatened by other guests while we were checking in. We did not feel safe staying there and we left. I would like a refund if that is possible. The receptionist was very nice but we were going to a concert and would be back late at night and without ANY desk coverage (AFTER 5:00) to ensure our safety, we left.

We arrived around 6pm for our stay, which was apparently "after hours" for the front desk, so we had to be checked in on a kiosk that didn't really work. We got up to our room and it looked like someone stopped cleaning halfway through. There was hair all over the bathroom from the previous person, their shampoo and soap was still in the bathroom and not thrown away, food crumbs all the counter, and NO LINENS on either bed or pillows. We had to call an outsourced company for them to contact someone at the hotel about the linens. The on-call employee came within ten minutes and was very nice, but it was a ridiculous start to our stay. We also never heard from the GM like we were promised (shocker). The kitchenette also had no pots or pans to cook with, so the stove top seemed pointless to have. The hotel also had a weird pickle scent in the hallway on our floor that never went away. I definitely recommend not staying here for more than one night if you have to. It's basically just a place to sleep and wash up. Nothing more.

We do not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. The sink was left with food remains from the previous guest. The rims of the walls were dirty. Employees were not present for checking in or out. They were not friendly or accommodating either. When mentioned that we felt uncomfortable with the virtual check in, the virtual staff member said “I don’t know why you would be uncountable.” She negated any feeling that we had about our stay and comfort. We requested a pillow and they said they would provide it the next day instead of the day it was requested.

It was fine for the price. Could hear everything happening around you. Bring your own pillows. Bed was pretty sunk in and uncomfortable but everything was clean… Although, the air fresheners smell like a grandmas armpit.

Too many small issues

Our room keys deactivated several times (not near cell phones or other things that could deactivate them) when I went to the front desk multiple times they said it was because I was checking out that day (which I wasn’t) this was also 2-3 hours BEFORE the posted 11 am checkout. I can understand cards deactivating the doors at 11 am check out but not three hours prior. This coupled up with having to wait over 30 minutes PAST check in time while another room identical was ready but they didn’t put us there. The beds also made an AWFUL noise anytime you moved slightly. The rooms were clean as were the linens and kitchenette area. Probably wouldn’t stay here again tho because of the overall hassles of trying to get into my room but having to continuously go to the front desk (which is also closed from 5 pm to the next morning so I’m glad my keys worked after that)

check in SUCKED! Person is via camera. Couldn't understand what she was saying. Told her I couldn't understand her. Her responce was "just sign it! I clicked, next. There were 3-4 guys standing at the entrance smoking & drinking.........When we stepped onto the elevator, there was a guy who just stared at us. DID NOT FEEL SAFE ! Went into the room, and the the beds were not on a box spring; but on a flat bed board. The floor in the bathroom looked as tho is had a discharge on it. 😠 Turned around and left !!!! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE HOTEL AT ALL !!
