Very small and tight room for two people, but nicely decorated. Parking was free with a permit but was tough to find a spot. Excellent location. Overall a great place to stay for a few nights.

Liked: Amenities
The fact that there's no grab rails around the shower and no slip mat could be dangerous for anyone who is disabled

Nice hotel and room was a good size. Could have been cleaner. I also realised that there was no blind on the bathroom window while i was taking a shower! Had to hang a towel over the shower door so people couldn't see me. Not ideal!
Pros:
Friendly check in staff but didn’t see agin for eh rest of the stay.
Cooked breakfast available
Near the sea front
Cons:
Small bathroom.
You hit your elbow on the shower when using the toilet. Water pressure is shocking. Toilet took ages to refill resulting in “dripping” noise through the night. I had to fill the water up from the shower to get the toilet to flush.
No hot water from the sink and cold water dibbles out
Shower has a booster pump so at least it works but it changes from hot water to cold water frequently. Also tiny and not much space
Strange “barn” style door which was loud and heavy to open, also had a large gap under the door - impossible to have privacy.
Bedroom
Tatty and in need of a refurb. Was very hot but couldn’t open the window due to there being scaffolding outside which people could climb up and get into the room through the window. Not safe to open the window. View was poor - building site.
Tv signal kept going.
We were in room 101 at the top of the stairs so couldn’t hear everyone passing plus the front door bell being rung.
Noisy in the morning- could hear other peoples shower pumps and the noise from be kitchen downstairs
The bed was shocking. Don’t expect to get any sleep on it.
Has an ironing board in the room but no iron. This is more of a B&B than hotel.
Stayed two nights and came away with sore backs and lack of sleep.
Wouldn’t stay again? Only if I wanted to meet Basil Fawlty.
Excellent hotel.
Have stayed many time.
Lovely staff.
Room serviced every day.

Liked: Staff & service, room comfort
Kind & pleasant staff, lounge areas lovely.lovely breakfast.
unfortunately there was cement smeared all across the bedroom window which didn’t enhance the already depressing view. Also lamp shades were broken.
Should be a warning that hot water is dangerously scalding.
On arrival i was originally given top floor room unfortunately lift was out of order and after explaining my knee issues i have the front of house staff member immediately swapped my room to a ground floor without any problems.
Clean and Basic, shower wasn’t working properly, Lift was out of order but not notified by the management, and wasn’t given the opportunity to change booking. We were on the 3rd floor. Less able people would have struggled.
Hotel is basic, clean but a bit dated. However the staff were excellent, friendly and very helpful. Attending a local sporting event and made very welcome with great assistance by staff.

Great location. Pleasant, helpful staff. Super breakfast.
General wear and tear on an older building so could do with some external and internal decoration. Can’t complain though as very reasonably priced.
If you like art this is the hotel for you
Lots to look at and provoke discussion. Excellent location, close to the beach and Devonshire park. Great budget hotel.
One of the largest family rooms weve had with sea views to the side which was great. Very nicely located and parking was included and available on road close by. Did have no hot water on one the morning but just had to slow our morning and wait for 30 mins and it was all ok. Challenge of older buildings I guess. Would stay again.
