I find it extraordinary that in a supposedly 5 star hotel that the bar is closed at midnight with room service closed at 11pm and mini bar not stocked. They did offer to suggest some bars we could goto outwith the hotel - but really?

Good hotel - great location

great hotel in ideal position - walkable to everything. On one downside I feel that you should have complimentary access to the spa and not just the pool with the poolside steam room.

Wonderful Stay

Had a wonderful overnight stay with my daughter to celebrate her birthday. Room was lovely, modern and clean. The hotel surprised her with chocolates and wine which made our stay so much more special. All the staff from reception to bar to concierge were wonderful and could not do enough for us. Highly recommend breakfast too. Overall a wonderful stay and I will be back.

Booked here for my wife’s birthday, added the spa as a treat along with the luxury. I booked a little room extra and there was a little hiccup with delivery, however, a quick phone call and a trip to the pool then on our return … wow! Amends made and a step above and beyond taken! I was well impressed and my wife speechless! Amazing customer care. Facilities were delightful and the staff friendly and helpful. On checkout I had booked us the spa as part of the birthday experience. Although no longer ‘customers’ the staff were still very helpful. Once in the spa well, check in and sign out is all I can say. If you get the chance you won’t regret is.

Nice clean room/hotel in a great location. Everything you could want from a city centre accommodation. Breakfast a bit pricey at £24. Ordered omelette which was lovely and hot and nicely presented but seemed very small. Also had a wrapped sausage muffin from the continental area which was cold and rock hard. Good selection of cereals, fruit and cold meats/cheese and breads.

Booked 2 rooms for 3 nights and on check in were immediately fleeced of £300 having already paid for the rooms - some kind of security deposit which will take 7 working days to be returned to me. Completely did not expect this so we spent our time in Edinburgh eating McDonald’s and drinking in Spoons as we had no money to go to decent places. Despite this, the rooms were nice and very clean and comfortable. I would avoid the spa at all costs… freezing!! We lasted an hour but it cost us £70 for a 3 hour experience. Very tired and in need of a refurb. The pool was nice but children only allowed in an hour in the am and an hour pm. This and the spa was the reason I booked this hotel but both a let down. Wouldn’t come back!

I am not sure how this is classed 5 star - standard kettle, toiletries stuck on wall screams 4 star at most - also leaving building to go to the building with pool in was a not convenient when the weather is so cold. Breakfast was good but service very slow and the coffee was dirty water - ie tasteless - location is good for access to Royal Mile and Princes Street. Also a highlight is the Brewdog restaurant just yards away for amazing food and drink - overall a good stay in Edinburgh but hotel overpriced for amenities
