A lovely little place with beautiful period features in a quiet area of Edinburgh, but only a short walk from Charlotte Square and George Street. The room was warm, cosy and spotless, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast had gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options available. The staff were welcome and friendly. Would recommend

Loved our stay at this property. Cannot recommend highly enough, staff were outstanding, room was very spacious and comfortable. Very clean and comfortable bed and furnishings. Spacious bathroom. Very poor stay , attic room on 4th floor via a rickety lift , very small , very hot even in oct , poor coffee choice - different coffee sachets -felt very cheap and like they had found the coffee We tried ringing reception at 2250 on a Sat night - no answer and I wasn’t going down 4 flights of stairs on a Sat night Full breakfast was anything but - 1 sausage , 1 slice of bacon, 1 egg , even the beans felt counted out I asked for toast and got 1 slice We asked for tea and got tea bags but no hot water This place is not cheap but feels cheap and they treat guests cheaply We won’t be staying again

Friendly staff and good breakfast. Rooms are clean and house keeping is prompt. Only recommendation I would suggest is putting in a mini fridge in the room and changing the tv to a smart tv.

Disappointing Accommodations

The hotel location was great, within walking distance to many of the sights of Edinburgh. The rooms were sparse, cheap particle board furniture, poor lighting, no basics like tissues and water glasses, and stained upholstered furniture. Service was inconsistent, poor the first two days of my stay and much improved the last two days. Certainly not a four star hotel at a cost of $300+ per night.

This is my second time staying here. Absolutely obsessed with the property! It’s the most stunning hotel with views from every angle. Lots of puzzles and games in the library too! Will absolutely stay here again.
