Great family friendly hotel, staff were amazing!

Stayed at hotel for a random one night weekend family get away. I read the usual reviews prior to booking which was enough for me to take a chance. I must say, the hotel did not disapoint, the staff were friendly, hotel clean and the grounds were gorgeous. When you travel with children it can often feel like your in the way of other hotel guests, especially couples who are wanting that romantic trip away. What stood out for me was that we didnt feel in the way, maybe it was the size of the hotel, layout or just how it was ran but the staff and guests were all so nice, the children were welcomed and the pool area was the biggest hit! We originally booked a double family room but were offered an upgrade (for a 40 pound fee, to be paid on arrival) to a junior suite which we went for, the room was massive with a living room for kids to run around in and a super king bed however the 2nd bed was a sofa bed, the orginal booking had two double beds. I think next time we would probably go smaller and keep the double family room but use the extra money to pay for two nights. As I type im trying to think of areas for improvement but in all honesty nothing springs to mind right now, the kids were sad to leave so for me thats the biggest indicator of a decent hotel, no stressed parents and happy children. Were already thinking of re-booking for easter.

I have stopped at the Dalmahoy many times but this was the worst visit we have experienced. Normally there would be nice shortbread biscuits in food to enjoy when relaxing from journey, breakfast orange juice was very sweet and probably made from powder, fried eggs had to be ordered at the table- when I questioned this Chef said it had been so for a long time but having stopped their not too long ago I knew differently. So had to pick breakfast from buffet and then wait for fried eggs to be delivered which resulted in buffet food being cold. Bowls and plates were in short supply and depite asking the waiters for a bowl and plate they were not forthcoming and to add insult to injury the whole breakfast experience was like going into a Motorway service station busy with football spectators - noisy , hectic and far too overcrowded

Overall a great place to stay. A bit of a trek to the city centre but accessible by bus just out the front of the grounds and there's always taxis if you needed to be quicker. Great gym with everything you need and a pool too with sauna and steam room.

We had a refreshing break at Dalmahoy, we enjoyed the pool, sauna and steam room. The kids enjoyed playing in the pool, we supervised but it was reassuring that there was always a staff member watching over patrons in the pool. The changing rooms had plenty of space and cleaned frequently .

Great hotel and facilities, upgraded the room to the turret which was very spacious, pool great for the kids as well and plenty to choose from in terms of food and very reasonably priced, only downside was the attitude and unhelpful check in staff member which to be fair was sorted out very swiftly by the duty manager who was most helpful.
