It was a maze upstairs then downstairs to find your room . The gym changing room lockers never had many with keys . Queuing for breakfast to be seated. This place needs to be managed I feel that no one was in charge. Breakfast was ok but queuing for a table when I could see empty tables is not 5 star it's not cheap here I expected luxury and excellent service rather than just ok. I won't be going there again. Good point swimming pool was nice and warm. Surrounding were nice settings

Have stayed here multiple times & it is always an excellent hotel property. However, two things of note for the Food & beverage manager: 1) You could use just a little more variety on your menus in all the restaurants, maybe a bit more seafood (in addition to the standard fish & chips), &/or a bit more Italian offerings &/or pasta/vegetarian dishes; & 2) The bar manager in the 19th hole bar (upstairs from the golf pro shop), could use some lessons in health & diplomacy standards (if he worked for me, I would fire him). When my brother ordered two draft beers, the manager picked up one of the glasses by the rim with two fingers--obviously, with one finger inside the glass. When my brother called him out on this unhealthy technique, he replied, "So? My fingers are clean." My brother rightly refused the beer poured into that glass, which appeared to anger the bar manager. I did not hear what other words were exchanged, but as a former bar manager myself--as was my brother--we both found that unhealthy handling of glassware to be unacceptable. Will let the F&B manager handle that problem.

A very lovely hotel

The grounds are lovely and well maintained, the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. We had a lovely breakfast. We look forward to another visit and making the most of the facilities, which we didn't have time for on this occasion.

The property is gorgeous, but a tad confusing on how to get to your rooms. It's up this elevator up two floors, down the hall, turn right, take elevator down one floor, get out go down the hall turn left, then go down the other hall turn right again, take another elevator up one floor and your room is on the corner. 😂 Thank god my husband has a great memory. I was like just tell me where to go hon, cause I'm lost. It's definitely a manor that has been renovated and it's a beautiful estate. The grounds are lovely, the rooms are perfect and the restaurants are top notch. The staff are so attentive and kind. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Wonderful stay.

Everything was absolutely beautiful. Everything was very clean. Being in a manor like that was so posh. Towels were lovely. Beds were good. It was a bit hot (no AC in Europe in a lot of places). Grounds were gorgeous. Lots of dining and pub options. Did not get to enjoy the sauna and steam room.

I was disappointed that in the cocktail lounge we had to go to the bar to order and pay. No service at the tables...this is a 4 star restaurant. We had lunch in the brasserie and it was okay. We went to the main restaurant for dinner but they did not have chicken on the menu...very strange, again for a 4 star, so we had dinner in the Brasserie, which was not what I wanted. I also asked if there was availability for a massage anytime that day. I was told it was an outside company and there were none availabe. I guess my hopes were higher for this more expensive hotel...
