Stayed at the weekend for a birthday celebration. Reception staff were helpful and discreet in organising flowers to be delivered to room. Room was great and bar and bistro were both full of character and all staff friendly and added to the experience. Will definitely stay again if through in Edinburgh for an occasion.

The hotel was lovely, staff very attentive, my only niggle was that the shower in our room was in the bedroom and not in a separate bathroom. Nice for couples, less so when you’re showing in front of a friend.

I booked the signature suite (Thierry Lombard) for my Wife’s birthday. It was fantastic. Loads of room and all the things you need for a stylish comfortable stay. The staff were great. We’ve stayed in Edinburgh many times and this is up with the best!

I love a quirky hotel, i.e., not the same tired layout for every room. This hotel is quirky, and does it with style and class. Amazing staff too - they're evidently proud of the place. Recommend.

Wonderful staff, especially front desk clerk Jennifer. The restaurant is very good, I recommend the Prime Rib. Breakfasts are nice too. One thing is, that the hotels history is not advertised on the Expedia and I was getting uneasy feelings in the hallway and in my bathroom. Haunted

Beautiful hotel with personalized and friendly service, nothing was too much trouble. Tasteful decor, spacious rooms and open areas throughout the hotel. Restaurant is a must do! The food is delicious. Would definitely recommend.
