Cool place. Plenty of room. Nice restaurant. Pleasant helpful staff. Lots to do in walking distance. One of the nicest places for the money that we have stayed in the UK.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
We were surprised to learn our room was in an annex to the hotel and required a walk down spiral concrete staircase to a basement with an outside entrance. We upgraded to a more expensive room in the hotel.
The room was very good - up to date, clean, good location, and nice accommodations. The walls are thin and we heard our neighboring rooms going in and out - slamming doors from 9pm to 4 am... disrupted a lot of sleep.
Great location and staff was very helpful. The only thing I’ll mention is our room was right by the stairs and it was very noisy early morning and late evening. Not a big deal for us as we were early risers. But if you want to sleep in occasionally, you might want to make them aware.
Breakfast was overpriced so we did not purchase their breakfast. The lady that checked us in did a poor job of explaining car parking. She suggested I go online and register with Q-Omni Parking which is about 20 minute walk. Had she explained better, we could have parked directly in front of the hotel for free between 6:30 pm and 8 am. If we were leaving after 8am, all I had to do was add a couple hours at the kiosk and leave the parking pass on the dash the night before. She said I would get a QR code at the end of parking registration, but she did not understand that Q parking uses the car license plate and no QR code is displayed at the end of registration. Our traveling group of 6 had one person that uses a walker due to not being able to walk very far at a time, so parking at the Q-Omni resulted in every morning I had to walk 20 minutes to get the car and then 15 minute drive back to pick up our group; every morning. This was very inconvenient when we were leaving the motel every morning before daylight.
There is no Air Conditioning in the rooms. It was hot in the room, but I could open a window a couple inches and use a fan.
Just a short walk 15 minute walk from Edinburgh Waverly train station made this a great place to visit. I enjoyed the excellent dinner and breakfast at their restaurant. The staff was great and helped me out with lunch suggestions and took care of receiving my luggage which was a couple of days late. I was on a bit more of a budget trip so stayed on the ground floor which was down from reception. This was a little bit out of the way but was really quiet. Very spacious room and comfortable.
The staff was lovely and very helpful. We loved the room, it was spacious and beautiful. The only thing we would’ve enjoyed more is the light in the room, could’ve been a little stronger, it was very dim, but I know many people like it that way, especially in Europe.
As part of a members only club, the RSC keeps its facilities in tip-top shape. The amenities were very generous, including slippers and super soft robes. The housekeeper was vey kind to give us a fan as the room got warm with a south facing window. The breakfasts were very elegant, served on china. Highly recommend.
