The room was very tired, with a small bed with cheap synthetic bedding and peeling wall paper on the ceiling Multiple cobwebs and signs of not being fully cleaned Bathroom was tired with dirt ingrained into cracked tiles and bath panel shame as its a great location and could be a great building etc

Not fancy or upscale but well maintained (especially for being a few hundred years old). Clean and up to date, comfortable bed and good size bathroom. Pub and restaurant serving good reasonably priced food. Staffing and service were excellent.

Breakfast was lovely, parking seemed ok, nothing to worry about there. could have done milk and biscuits in the room for the morning cuppa. Didn't know there was no lift! being 70 I did hot like the stairs. Other than that it was lovely and would return for another stay....Oh and the evening meal was wonderful.

Idea location but limited parking. Very old building in need of outside repairs. No lift and being on the second floor was difficult with luggage. But very clean and tidy, staff very helpful. Could not fault the service.

The Lamb Hotel has been there for donkey's years and it shows. The downstairs bar, dinning area is quite smart, pleasant to be in and has obviously had a few quid spent on it. The rooms or at least the room we had was pretty average. Plumbing, shower, bathroom must have been installed in the 70s. Out shower did not work at all and there is no maintenance on at the weekend. The staff did offer us a change of room but we couldn't be doing the disruption. The staff on the other hand were excellent. Checkin was easy, bar staff very good and cleaning staff, never seemed to stop working. All in all a good stay and I wouldn't want to put anyone off this hotel because it's ok but the Savoy it is not. It would need a very large investment to bring the rooms up to a good standard, a lick of paint won't cut it but all in all it does the job.
