Disappointed that we were not informed at check in that the boiler was broken and there was no hot water! It was only the next morning when we called reception to say we were unable to shower that we found out! Poorly managed and felt we should have been told. Realise now why we were served red wine in a champagne glass in the rooftop bar as they didn't have water to wash up! The automatic door in the main bar was also broken so was cold in there too! All of this was fixed on second day but should have been informed so it was our choice whether or not to stay!

When we arrived at the property all seemed well. We we're greeted by a friendly member of staff and even allowed to check in a little earlier. The room looked reasonably nice at first glance. The problems came overnight and the next morning, the room was very cold and there was no hot water for a shower. I reported this in the morning only to be told the boiler was broken and they haven't been able to fix it. That's fair enough (these things happen) but apparently this was known on our check in. I wanted to know why we weren't informed at any point until check out?. If we had been given the chance we would have asked for a refund and found alternative accommodation with heating and hot water. We recieved a 25% discount (and a cold shower)

Fernando Head of reception is excellent he is credit to your hotel Hotel is situated in great location right opposite The Cathedral , rooms and bar area very clean had a great breakfast as well stayed in most hotels in Exeter this is the best one 5 *****

Hey Wanted to firstly say thank you for your reply, much appreciated. We are leaving today and have had a lovely stay. Over the years we have stayed in a lot of hotels and were excited to stay here mainly due to location and the room itself so I do feel like I should give you some feedback on the room. My partner does suffer from some allergies and has sneezed the whole time consistently, we couldn’t work out what it was but having dropped the remote on the floor it fell under the bed. I have attached a picture it is full, really full of dust! I’m not complaining I’m letting you know as it’s not nice. Also for future the room is 604, I couldn’t get the side lights on the mirror to work or connect to the tv to cast. We bought milk as I was surprised to see you only have the carton milk. All the little touches that other hotels get right. Thanks for listening and for your kind words. Again I’m not complaining just giving you some thoughts. Thank you. The location is right near the city center. The room is clean, tidy and comfortable. The breakfast is semi buffet and the hot dish cooked is with good standard. It is great that the room have hot water kettle!

Found it odd that having booked this hotel about 2 weeks earlier I was asked on arrival whether I had "paid" because it "looked like" the hotel had not had any money from Expedia. After a minute or two the person on reception said that he could in fact see payment had been made and we were given our room key.

Our best experience of hotels in Exeter. Lovely atmosphere in the lounge area and staff were very helpful. Our room was clean and the layout and style is really good. Nice to see that the shampoo , soap etc are not bolted down. Would definite go back when the opportunity arises

The hotel exceeds expectations. It is bright, modern, different in a good way. The staff are excellent - friendly, courteous, helpful, polite. The rooms were beautifully furnished and decorated. The bathroom spotless and well provided with toiletries. The in-room drinks were plentiful and varied. The breakfast was fresh, delicious and cooked to order in front of you. Will definitely return.
