Located on 3 acres surrounded by endless fields, you will have ultimate privacy in a country setting. Escape from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas yet only 1hr away from the pristine beaches of the Outer Banks.



The Space:

Surrounded by hunting and fishing possibilities, while an easy drive to shopping, dining, and beaches, there is something to do for everyone. Step outside and you may spot black bears and swans, or stay indoors and enjoy the comfortable furnishings or cook a meal in the brand new kitchen.



This 3 bedroom, 2 bath home is fully furnished with free EV charging and equipped to host any family and friends getaway, hunting/fishing trip, or if you just want a place to relax and unwind.



The master bedroom includes a king bed and a private bathroom with a glass enclosed shower. The 2nd bedroom includes a queen bed. The 3rd bedroom includes a twin-over-twin bunk bed as well as an additional twin bed. In addition, there is a sleeper sofa in the living room as well as a futon in the sunroom for more guests. The second full bath with a bath tub and washer and dryer is in the hallway just outside the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms. The great room has vaulted ceilings, a wood stove fireplace, and a 65” smart TV. Each of the 3 bedrooms also have smart TVs. The main dining table seats 6 and an additional pub table seats 4 to accommodate all types of gatherings. The house comes with central air and Wifi. Linens and towels are provided.



Please be aware, this home is in a country setting surrounded by fields and wetlands. There will be bugs and critters around. In hot summer days, the AC might not be able to keep up. Generally it can stay roughly 20 degrees below the outside temperature. It is not uncommon to get into the 90s here and the AC might not go below 75. We try our best to make this affordable private home as comfortable as possible.

It was great to return to the Fairfield area. This house is in an excellent location, close to the lakes & preserves. The address now brings you directly to the driveway via gps. A few years ago that wasn’t the case. The only critters I saw in the house weren’t cringeworthy at all, a cricket & a ladybug. It would have been nice to have access to ice or even a tray that I could fill & freeze. I would definitely return again!

We booked this at last minute so we could stay clost to family for a Birthday, it was Great place. Very quiet/ remote. I think my only complaint was us having to make the beds, however that did not affect our stay in any way shape or form. Host was very responsive, an awesome to work with! Highly recommend!

Great host and a great house!Had a bad storm come through the day before and knock out the power, but the host was quick to reach out and let us know. Power was quickly restored. A lightning strike across the road took out the internet service, but our host also let us know about that as soon as possible. The house was clean, well equipped, and relaxing. We always stay here when we are in the area and look forward to booking again next year!

Excellent Place to Stay

This house was perfect for my husband and son’s for hunting. It was clean, well laid out and plenty of room. The outdoor spaces were nice for grilling and plenty of room to park. The host was responsive and easy to work with. They hope to stay there again.

Laid Back Spot for A Weekend Away

We stayed here for our annual fishing trip, and I couldn't have been more pleased with my experience. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed with the cleanliness and condition of the property. The house was immaculate and well-stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen had all the necessary utensils and appliances, which made meal preparations easy and enjoyable. The scenery around the house was absolutely stunning. The peaceful and quiet surroundings provided a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Waking up to the beautiful views each morning was a highlight of the trip. The house itself was very comfortable, with cozy furnishings and a welcoming atmosphere. It felt like a home away from home. The beds were comfortable, and we all slept well each night after long days of fishing. Communication with the host was excellent. They were responsive and provided clear instructions, making the check-in and check-out process smooth and hassle-free. Overall, I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in Fairfield, VA. Whether you're there for fishing or just to unwind, this house is the perfect choice. Lovely renovation

Clever kitchen area! I love the lights & decor. Excellent location for the wildlife preserves. My GPS did not bring me all of the way to the house. Using the longitude/latitude may be better. WiFi had a strong signal. The heat for the air & water worked very well. The living room had a nice big TV but the sofa is uncomfortable. I doubt I’d have noticed if I hadn’t been alone. I would rent there again and recommend it for wildlife enthusiasts, bird watchers, fishermen, and hunters. It is a cottage, not a house so there are areas where the ceiling is low. I don’t think that would matter as people renting there are there to get into the woods & ponds, not just hang around the house. Leaving a bottle of wine for me was also a nice touch. Thank you! Absolutely Perfect Getaway!

We rent a house every summer and have for the last 7 years. This is one of the top 2 houses we've ever stayed at. Extremely clean, very new trimmings/appliances, very well kept. The house is about 45-60 minutes from Nags Head, so you're close enough to go to the OBX every day, but far enough out to be in the country. It worked great for us! The host is awesome - very quick responses to messages, super nice, and has the property very well maintained! The location is in the country, we saw 2 bears while we were there, a ton of tree frogs, and a gecko or two.
