Fossi - Flo Apartments

This bright and romantic open space is located on the third floor without lift of a typical Florentine tower house, in the historic heart of the city, in the elegant Via dei Fossi, which leads from Piazza Santa Maria Novella to the Arno River.
Newly renovated and tastefully furnished, it is suitable for young couples who want to discover and fully immerse themselves in the culture, history and art of our beautiful city.

Flo Apartments Fossi is located on the third floor without lift (80 steps, but not so heavy) of a typical Florentine tower block, a stone's throw away from all the main attractions of the city: the Cathedral, the Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, the elegant Via Tornabuoni, the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella and the Lungarni along the Arno river.
The Fossi apartment is equipped with all the comforts that will allow you to relax after a day of museums and sightseeing and make your holiday a memorable experience to tell.
The careful renovation has enhanced the traditional details of the old building, creating a perfect blend of antique and modern furnishings.
The wooden beams of the ceiling, the large brick arch and the light colours of the furniture give this apartment a romantic, warm and welcoming atmosphere, which alone is enough to make the steps to get here worthwhile.
Don't be fooled by its size, the rooms are perfectly organised and the two large windows overlooking the rooftops of the city, and from which you can glimpse the Arno river, are the source of warm natural light throughout the open space.
The entrance hall has a typical terracotta floor and a cabinet for the washing machine.
From here three steps lead to the bright living room with sofas, a widescreen TV, a dining table and wardrobes.
On the right, there is a kitchenette with a window, equipped with everything you need to prepare breakfast, lunch or dinner whenever you wish (microwave, kettle, moka, etc.).
To the left, a large brick archway, preserved from the original structure, outlines the sleeping area, furnished with a large double bed and bedside tables.
A spacious bathroom with shower and window completes the apartment.

THE DISTRICT
The apartment is located in the elegant Santa Maria Novella district, in Via dei Fossi, a street famous for its art and antique shops and historic bookshops. The street takes its name from the moat that once ran through it, when the second circle of the city walls, dating from Dante's time, crossed it. The street became fully urbanised in 1284.
We are located in the heart of the city, between the historic centre and the Arno river: just a stone's throw away is Piazza Santa Maria Novella with the Basilica of the same name, the Lungarni, the Cathedral, Piazza della Signoria and the Ponte Vecchio, which takes you to Oltrarno, a historic district rich in authenticity, handicrafts and nightlife.
Not far away are the old districts of Sant'Ambrogio and San Lorenzo, with their churches of the same name and their lively markets, where you can buy local products to taste or take home as souvenirs.
This area is full of restaurants, trattorie and clubs that, especially in the summer, enliven the squares and streets with their alfresco tables. Here you can enjoy the best of Tuscan cuisine, whether for an informal lunch or a romantic dinner.
At a stone throw you will find everything you night need during your stay: a bank, a pharmacy, bars, pastry shops, ice-cream parlours, pizzerias, typical and ethnic restaurants, supermarkets, hairdressers, laundry, bus stop.

You will probably never take the bus, but the neighbourhood is well served by public transport, which will take you in a few minutes to Santa Maria Novella station, Piazza San Marco or Piazzale Michelangelo, to embrace and admire Florence in all its beauty from above.

Being located in a Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL), the flat can be easily reached from the Santa Maria Novella station on foot in 10 minutes, from the airport by tramway or taxi.
Our guests arriving by car can park at the Garage Centrale1, 100 metres (1 minute walk) from the entrance of our building, and forget about the car, as all the major sights of Florence are within a 5-minute walk.
You will probably never use the bus, but the neighbourhood is well served by public transport that takes you to Santa Maria Novella station, Piazza San Marco or Piazzale Michelangelo in a few minutes to embrace and admire Florence in all its beauty from above.
