We had the most wonderful seven night stay at the Helvetia and Bristol last week. From the moment we entered, we were treated so kindly. The entire staff, from front desk to housekeeping to doormen to restaurant staff, were so warm, friendly, and helpful. The rooms were spacious and gorgeous, and turndown service a delight each night, with slippers laid out for us and chocolates on our pillows. The location was central to everything. Truly, there is not a single negative thing I could say - this is a magical hotel. We’ll be back!

Staff were amazing, property is gorgeous, you must try the spa. Marcus and Anna there were outstanding. Breakfast could have more warm options, and the rooms were a little on the small side but to be expected for a European property. Overall truly a 5 star property.

The property is gorgeous. The concierge is never around and the staff are not knowledgeable about anything other than dinner reservations. Asking about the Uffizi gallery was a waste of time. For the price, I would have expected a concierge that was available.

Italian hospitality at its best - caring, friendly and professional staff, especially helpful was siñor Franchesco who explained everything to us in a very clear way and took good care of us during our 7 day stay Of course for those few people like us who rented a car and drove into Florence it was a nightmare to drive through busy crowded narrow medieval streets to get to the hotel but they have an option to park your car in the nearby garage and bring it on demand Room was cozy, historic and clean ; service at the restaurant was good, so was the breakfast buffet - it would be better if breakfast extended to 11 am instead of finishing at 10:30 for those like us who aren’t early risers / overall staying at Helvetia Bristol was wonderful as was staying in Florence for the entire week/ would definitely recommend!

Other than the girl who checked me in, everyone who works in this hotel is rude. It is shocking that this is a five star hotel. I had a negative experience at the Spa. The person who showed me around the spa could not articulate and I couldn’t understand a thing she said. And then I used one of the rooms apparently that you have to pay extra for, this nut stood in the door yelling at me while there were other guests there with her. I asked her to please close the door so I could get up and leave and she proceeded to stand there watching me and never offered for me to add the service. It was absolutely jarring and ruined my time there. In addition in the relaxation area there is mold all over the ceiling. It is so disgusting. Later, I ordered tea in the lobby in the evening and I had to wait 15 or 20 minutes and talk to two different people to get some tea to take to my room. The maid did not restock the tea or the sugar in my room. And when we checked out, we left the keys at the front desk. An hour later, I got a very rude call telling me I had to leave the hotel. I had already left. I am disgusted at the lackluster service especially at this price point. I was treated horribly. These people have some kind of Superiority complex bc they think they’re a five star hotel. Well, they’re Not. I will not be back to this hotel because of their rude staff. There’s plenty of competition in the surrounding area.

I recently had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Helvetia & Bristol Firenze, and it was nothing short of a luxurious dream. From the moment I arrived, the service was impeccably warm and professional – the staff went above and beyond to make me feel like royalty, handling every request with a smile and genuine Florentine charm. Whether it was arranging a seamless check-in or offering insider tips on the city’s hidden gems, their attention to detail was truly outstanding. The location is unbeatable – right in the historic center, steps away from the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and the Uffizi Gallery. Exploring Florence on foot was effortless, and returning to the hotel each evening felt like retreating to an elegant oasis amid the Renaissance splendor. This is an exquisite hotel with absolute luxury and simply the best breakfast buffet we had in all of Italy. We traveled from Venice to Florence and this hotel was a last splurge. It was worth the high price. The room was beautiful in the newer Bristol tower and the spa was relaxing. The best breakfast buffet with cheery staff made our last day so happy.
