Great location in a beautiful city

This hotel is on the fourth floor of a building with another hotel. When entering the elevator, you will press and hold number four until the door closes, and the elevator begins to move. Be sure to look at the check-in hours as there is not someone at the desk 24 hours a day. The hotel was in a fantastic location near the Duomo, shopping and not far from the river, museums, and all of the sites to see in Florence. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Be sure you are able to check in during their check-in hours. The beds were OK, relative to comfort. Keep in mind hotels in Europe do not have conditioner or washcloths so come prepared. This is a great hotel for the price. We would stay here again. They have a rooftop bar overlooking the Duomo, which is amazing!

The location was perfect staff very nice but air conditioning poor and on 3 very hot days did not cool the room ,did not sleep well , hotel is on the 4 th floor , the elevator only worked if it was on the floor you were on ,other wise you had to climb 92 steps to get to hotel . So unless someone came down to the first floor , you were hiking up 4 flights or until you came across were it was. Staff kept saying it just broke but we were there 3 days it never changed , complained about the ac and was told they would check it out but again that was never fixed , building is old beds a little rough to sleep in . But roof top bar was a great view . They got 1 star because the staff were very nice and the location was great ,

Incredible location with wonderful views. Room had great views and property has terrace and dining area overlooking the cathedral and city. Everything is within walking distance. Staff were warm, friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was lovely, everything you could want. Bed spacious and comfortable. Loved everything here.

Great stay

The front staff was warm and friendly. It was one block from the Duomo which was so convenient. The room was large and inviting. The ac worked great. The experience was great. I would absolutely stay again.

I really enjoyed this hotel mostly because of the staff. Lorenzo is an excellent communicator leading up to my arrival. I changed my reservations twice and he was very accommodating. Made the process seamless. Eloy (spelling) is the most engaging hotel associate I have ever met. Great conversationalist. He ensured each day I was having a good time and shared some of his passions. This will sound cheesy but this hotel actually felt like a home away from home because of the staff’s hospitality. Beautiful view of the duomo from their bar terrace. Will be back again!!

Highlights: amazing terrace, great location, decent breakfast. Lowlights: no soundproofing - you can hear people walking in the hall like they passed right next to your bed. And then they start locking/unlocking the door, and goodbye night sleep.

The room is small. Bed not very comfortable. The water in the bathroom sprays everywhere and the shower water never gets very warm. Nevertheless, I would stay there again. The terrace is incredible. You feel like you have a private view of Duoma and Bell Tower.

I word of caution. Make sure you write in the comments the bed configuration you want. We wanted two separate twins and got two twins joined together to form a queen bed. It had queen bedding as well. The hotel management pointed to the comment section saying that we didn't request two twin beds, but on the expedia side I selected the two twin option. The manager agreed to accommodate the change for that night, but they didn't. They changed the beds the next day though. Breakfast room and staff were great. Neat, great variety well organized. The elevator is very small (fits about 3 people) and very old. You have to hold the button to the floor you are going to for several seconds or it won't work. After walking around Florence for several days, I realized that it is not worth paying the high price to be near the cathedral. Everything is within a 15 minute walk for the most part.

Elio was a fantastic host. The furniture in our room could use updating as it is worn out. The night stand lamps flicker because the switches are worn out. The view of the Duomo was top notch. The Villani is in a great location in the center city for all your shopping and sight-seeing needs. We would definitely stay there again. I wish there were better parking accomodations though. You can't have everything.
