Well presented clean & comfortable hotel with good facilities - particularly the pools - and beautiful gardens overlooking the Atlantic. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice and 5-6pm Happy Hour is a winner. Overall the staff were so helpful & friendly (just don’t mess with the breakfast team!!).

What an amazing property. This hotel was one of my favorites throughout our family trip of 10 days around Portugal and Madeira. We were given a suite with pool and ocean view. The rooms were spotless clean, comfortable beds with fluffy pillows. One of the best breakfast buffets we have experienced. The staff was very friendly and professional. Located near restaurants, natural pool, shopping mall. Highly recommend to stay at Porto Mare Bayport when visiting Funchal.

The grounds are beautiful. The breakfast and dinner buffet was delicious. You get a really good deal with this resort. The rugs and indoor areas such as indoor pool and jacuzzi are a little dated. Over all 4/5 I would return.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful. Spotless clean and the grounds are lush and beautiful. The big down side is the main pool,the water is so very cold. Considering the size of this pool and how pretty it is, hardly anyone swam in it, due to the cold temperature. It's an terrific waste, just to sit around it and not be able to take a dip. Many people dipped a toe in, and then just walked away.
