Absolutely loved our time here. Dog friendly, views of the river from inside and out on deck. Dogs and we loved floating on the river. Welcoming casual layout, which we wanted for our dog and outdoor activies. Quiet calm neoghborhood to walk dogs, neighbors all very friendly. Owner across atreet was wonderful. Involved only if you want. Loved my chats w her. Appx 20 min thru forest to crescent city, with great short hikes along the way

Great location for visiting the Redwoods. Also wonderful for just sitting on the deck watching the Smith River roll by. House was very comfortable and the kitchen had plenty of dishes and quality cookware. Lots of condiments and staples available as well. Hosts were lovely.

Not for seniors with disabilities. Were looking forwarrd to. It was sweltering in s i being on the lake not above it with too steep a desent for us to walk it. Steps upto the house were not for us either. It was way hot 102 and we had been asked not to use air conditioner much. It was sweltering inside so we did use the air unit although it wasnt sufficient for the whole house. Kitchen was well stocked. Hair dryer would have been handy. All in all if we were physically more abled it would be a nice retreat but not when its hot. We came to enjoy some fishing from the yard but never put a hook in the water. TV controller hard to understand. It just wasnt what we expected.

Family Visit

A slice of heaven

This is a truly special place located right on the Smith River. This home welcomes and embraces you when you walk in. The home itself is cozy & filled with character and has EVERYTHING you could possibly need. The main living area is SO comfortable, with a large TV, if you can pull yourself away from looking at the Smith River through the expanse of windows allowing you great views (not to mention the peaceful sound of the river). A large comfortable back deck provides an even better view of the river and a great place to enjoy coffee and take it all in. Bedding is almost too comfortable. Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park is just down the road and is a magical place. Walking among these majestic, ancient trees leaves you in awe (and feeling a bit small and humble). This place definitely seeps into your soul, leaving you with a sense of calm, peace and serenity. And last, but definitely not least, Marian is a true delight. We had a problem with our e-mail before we arrived and she made sure we had everything we needed to get there and met us when we arrived. We really enjoyed meeting and talking with her and she was so helpful making sure our stay was wonderful. This is a place to make very special memories, which we definitely did. Hardest thing was leaving - we drove across the country from the east coast to get here, thinking it would be a one time trip, but after our stay here, we can't wait to come back!!! Thank you, Marian, for sharing your wonderful home!

Awesome vacation getaway (BMH) “bite my hook” vacation rental.

We absolutely loved our stay at BMH, and would definitely stay again. Beautiful view of the Smith River. Fully stocked house with many amenities (bbq, fire pit, etc.) Just up the road from many great Hiking and fishing locations as well. Beautiful & Relaxing

My fiancé and I and our furbabies found this beautiful little spot for our first time visiting the Redwoods. Marian was a wonderful host, very friendly and kind made everything very easy for us. Everyone in the neighborhood was very friendly. The house is perfect, beautiful view right on the deck with a nice little fireplace that we enjoyed very peaceful. Not far from everything we wanted to see. We definitely plan on coming back.

The best stay!

I had read reviews of the home and expected a clean and comfortable stay, but my expectations were exceeded and it's worth another mention in this review! The cabin is spotless, the kitchen is stocked, the deck furniture is clean and comfortable, the appliances are clean and working beautifully, the bathrooms were lovely, and the beds perfect! I visited with my family and our German Shepherd dog and we did not feel the age of the cabin at all. We hiked the Redwoods, which are just next door, each morning and came back to our cabin to enjoy the deck and playing in the cleanest river I've ever visited each evening. On top of that Marian ended up being a wonderful and warm host, so kind and as welcoming as the cabin. I truly have nothing bad to say about this place and would encourage anyone to book this place, pets or no pets!

Fantastic view and comfy accommodations

A beautiful spot right on the river! This was the perfect place to take a few days and reset while on an extended road trip down the Oregon coast and then back up through central Oregon. The property was gorgeous, with lodging and amenities well maintained. They had everything you could ever need to have a family game night inside around a cozy wood stove or out back on the deck grilling. There was plenty of room for my large family and the host was very accessible to answer questions all along the way. I booked well in advance, so it was nice to receive a personalized message leading up to check in. We hope our travels bring us back to the area - would definitely stay again.

A little piece of Heaven

Our stay was Amazing! The home was well stocked and clean. A perfect getaway on one of the cleanest rivers in America in a stunningly beautiful area of the country. Best part was sitting on the back porch with the fire pit watching the river go by. So peaceful. Marion was very nice and informative about places to go and things to do. Little Gem

My Family and I very much enjoy staying at BMH Cabin. The redwoods and the Smith River are so relaxing especially on the wraparound deck that overlooks the river. The cabin has everything one could possibly need but I do wish the living room still had a second television (with a family being there not everyone wants to watch the same shows in the evening). Gasquet is so beautiful and the people are very welcoming. Our host Marian is just the sweetest gal in town and was very helpful with daily activities. My pups already miss the river and lounging in the sunroom or on the deck. We hiked Stout Grove which was spectacular! We took our girls cliff jumping at Myrtle Beach near Hiouchi where there was also a great swimming hole. The cabin itself is fully equipped for cooking a family meal and enjoying our meal out on the deck while viewing the fantastic wildlife. Can’t wait to come back!

Fantastic place!

We loved staying here! We enjoyed the redwoods, the ocean and floating the river, but the deck overlooking the Smith River is the best part of BMH! And we love the host's hospitality.
