Very quiet and beautiful nature view, charming gite near Honfleur

The lodging of the press is conveniently located 3 KM from Honfleur, close to everything that makes the fame of this region of Normandy: Honfleur and the old harbor, Deauville, Trouville and its beaches, the countryside, gastronomy and all the typical products of this region, cheeses, cider, calvados etc. For a direct rental, you can contact us by doing the following research: www point legrandpressoir dot com .The cottage is located in the heart of a property of 4 hectares, made up largely by a hilly meadow occupied by our two horses. The house is located away from nearby small roads, after a tarred road without end, and entent no traffic noise, allowing to enjoy the sounds of nature. It is likely that you will be woken in the morning by the sound of birds. The major advantage of our cottage is the quality of the immediate environment, with a view of a valley planted with apple trees.


The cottage was built in a typical old press Normand, built in timbered and flint. It features a large room to the ground floor with an open kitchen to the living room and a cathedral ceiling. A large fireplace allows for wood fires for fun in all seasons. A ground floor still, a bedroom with a queen bed, and a bathroom with shower, sink and toilet suspended. The living room is south-facing and opens up onto a sunny terrace all day and overlooking a small orchard and meadows.
Upstairs, a large bedroom (20 m2) has a double bed and a single bed and also a private bathroom with toilet, the same as the bottom. In total, the cottage can easily accommodate 5 people in two bedrooms. We have two other cottages on the same property, an independent cottage of 65 M2, ideal for 4 or 5, and another building, with 110 M2 comfortable up to 8 people. These two cottages can be easily consulted by searching
 "the big press".
During your stay at this cottage, you'll be close to Old Harbor of Honfleur. Laundry facilities are available. Free WiFi and a kitchen are available in the cottage.

Delightful Rustic house near Honfleur

We stayed at Le petit pressoir and had a lovely relaxing break. The house was very suitable for us being two couples as it had two double bedrooms-one upstairs with en suite bathroom and one downstairs with a separate bathroom. As the evenings were becoming cooler we had ample wood and lit an open fire. The property is a mass of beams, stone floors, exposed brickwork with a private garden. It has everything you need for a very pleasant stay in the heart of the Normandy countryside. It was hard to find though being situated on a no through road between Gites de Canet and a White House with white fencing if that helps future visitors.

Charming Cottage

The little cottage was lovely. Very nicely decorated and clean. It is located close to the town of Honfleur...a bit of a walk but just a few minutes by car. The cottage was a bit difficult to find but once there we enjoyed our stay.

Rustic cottage complete with cobwebs

This is a rustic cottage complete with cobwebs, shabby furniture and old linens (which we had to pay extra for). The owner gave us incorrect directions and the cottage is very hard to find . It is about 5km from center of Honfleur which we liked very much. The owner did not connect with us but emailed a contact for a woman who spoke no English at all . I would not recommend staying here unless you bring your own linens and are ready to clean the place up. It is truly out in the middle of nowhere in a compound of other cottages . No restaurants or stores unless you go to Honfleur so you must have a car . The place needs new furniture and linens and a good cleaning throughout and Americans might find it unsuitable if you like clean and tidy and good access to restaurants and shops. We only used the cottage to sleep in as we were out all day and that was ok! God bless the mom that was picking up her child at the little school who spoke English and helped us to communicate with the lady who met us after we had to call her Twice instead of the owner who was 1000km away somewhere

Un gîte exceptionel, très tranquil et des hôtes charmants.

Nous espérons revenir à ce bel endroit agréablement calme et néansmoins à proximité de Honfleur et d'autres endroits touristiques et pleins de vie. Une voiture est indispensable pour y aller.

Nice little cottage

Was a little heard to find. Perhaps sending out a specific internet link to the location as well as the directions would make it easier to find. Property is clean and well presented. The open fire was a necessity as the weather wasn't great. That said, it was lovely and cosy with the fire going. Including more firewood for guests would be welcomed if there is cold weather. We had a power cut on one evening which meant we relied soley on the fire for warmth which wasn't really good enough. The owner did apologise for this on our departure. Fortunately it happened late enough in the day that we were all off to bed soon after. I managed to make a mistake on the original booking which meant I booked for three days but one day earlier than we wanted. Which meant the property wasn't booked for the last night that we needed it. Fortunately the property wasn't booked out to anyone else and the owner was very understanding and let us stay without additional charge. Most appreciated.

Wonderful retreat in the country but close to everything!

In the midst of a holiday between Paris and London, we decided to take a few days in the country, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. The cottage was the exactly the remedy we needed. The side patio offered a beautiful setting to put our feet up after a day of exploring nearby Honfleur or the DDay beaches. The kitchen was well equipped, there was a grill outside but no charcoal to cook with. The market was close by and the village on Honfleur was a wonderful tourist destination. Olivier was very welcoming and we got good advice in local resutaurants and sites from he and his son. I would highly recommend this spot for a small family or 2 couples. We loved having a couple of sheep in the 'backyard' and all the beautiful flowers around us as we sat outside. Wonderful vacation spot. Would definitely go back if I was in the area again.

Das Haus war in ruhiger ländlicher Lage wie beschrieben. Die Eigentümer haben es mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet - es fehlte an nichts und war sehr gemütlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Umgebung, wie zB Honfleur, Deauville oder die Alabasterküste waren schnell und gut erreichbar, so daß man jeden Tag schöne Ausflüge und Besichtigungen unternehmen konnte.

Pour le prix de cette location nous nous attendions à un plus grand comfort et un meilleur équipement. Lit de 140, canapé et fauteuils vétustes donc pas confortable, équipement de cuisine de bric et de broc, pas de machine à café avec dosettes etc..

Prachtig huis en prachtige omgeving!

Vriendelijke eigenaar, huisje ligt in de tuin vd eigenaar, samen met 2 andere huisjes. Ze zijn erg mooi zowel van buiten als van binnen. Alles is aanwezig, keuken ook alles volop aanwezig. Dit is echt een aanrader voor als je naar het prachtige stadje Honfleur en/of omgeving wilt gaan.

Erwartungen leider nicht erfüllt

Das Haus (Hälfte eines Gebäudes) befindet sich in einer sehr schönen ländlichen und ruhigen Gegend. Schön fanden wir den eingezäunten Aussenbereich mit Esstisch, der allerdings besser gepflegt sein könnte (kaputte Liegestühle, alter Blumentrog mit ausgetrockneten Kräutern, Teil der Fassade und Fenster von wild wachsenden Pflanzen zugedeckt). Der Innenbereich ist sehr einfach eingerichtet, die Möbel sind allerdings sehr abgebraucht. Die Sauberkeit lässt sehr zu wünschen übrig. Die Küchenausstattung ist essentiell, Töpfe sehr abgenutzt (wir mussten uns 2 Pfannen kaufen um überhaupt kochen zu können). Leider war kein Barbecue/Grill vorhanden, der Vermieter hat uns auf unsere Anfrage am ersten Tag versprochen einen zur Verfügung zu stellen, hat seine Versprechung aber nicht eingehalten.

Omschrijving: het leek een vrijstaand huis maar werkelijkheid 4 huizen incl. Eigenaar op een terrein

Huisje op zich prima, kan wel een opknapbeurtje gebruiken. Parkeren was zeer matig. Bij aankomst was er geen beddengoed en handdoeken welke inclusief waren. Eigenaar wilde deze aan het eind nog met ons apart afrekenen. Voor de rest lekkere een lekkere tijd gehad in Normandië

ruhig gelegenes Ferienhaus

wir haben uns in dem Ferienhaus in Honfleur sehr wohlgefühlt. Der Garten des Hauses ist eingezäunt und somit ideal für Hundebesitzer . Es war für uns auch ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge in die Umgebung.
