“Le Clos des Rosiers” is a typical Provence mas, located in the center of the medieval village of Gordes, one of the most beautiful villages of the Luberon area, if not the whole of France.
In the summer of 2021, Frederik & Pascale Vanhaecke-Marcantuoni, owners of The Van Cleef Hotel in Bruges (Belgium) fell in love with this wonderful property and took up the challenge to bring it back to life. The authentic house has been fully restored in 2022 by Pascale, who is an interior designer, combining the charming interiors of Provence and modern, luxury comfort. Upon entering and passing through the entrance hall, one is immediately impressed by the wonderful sitting room with its grand chimney. To the left is the orangery in “Madeleine Castaign” atmosphere looking out onto the garden terrace covered by 4 mulberry trees and the limestone fountain. On the right you enter the blue grey fully equipped kitchen with a professional “Lacanche” stove. A wonderful collection of “barbotine’s” is displayed in the painted dressers. Eventually you will enter the dining room which seats 8 persons and where the walls are covered with an amazing collection of flower paintings.
The house is set in 2100m2 closed garden which has been divided into the terraced garden where one can dine with 8, the cozy lounge garden opposite the limestone fountain is great for enjoying the aperitif and then there is also the swimming pool garden with comfortable daybeds bordered by old olive trees and its dining terrace for 6/8 pers with BBQ-plancha.
Le close des Rosiers counts 4 bedrooms. On the first floor there are 2 bedrooms with wonderful views on the Luberon sharing a comfortable bathroom with bath and shower. The green suite is located on the ground floor with a terrace giving onto the swimming pool-garden and ensuite bathroom, dressing and a private lounge area. Adjoining the main house, the maisonette suite disposes of a private terrace with great view, an ensuite bathroom and a lounge/dressing area.
Additionally, the grounds offer 6 parking spaces with an electric-charger and a petanque-field.
The mas is situated on a short stroll from the “Place du Chateau”. Close to the shops, restaurants and the weekly market on Tuesday’s. Gordes is a member of the most beautiful villages of France along with others in the Luberon area such as Menerbes, Lourmarin, Oppède and Bonnieux. There is an easy connection to Avigon TGV (30 min.) and Marseille Aiport (60 min.). Other sights in the area are the Abbaye de Senanque and the Antique dealers’ village of Isle sur la Sorgue.
