Bay Gardens Beach Resort provided a relaxing couple day stay in the Rodney Bay area. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and the air conditioning quiet. A major downside was not knowing the resort was undergoing construction when I booked a garden room. The balcony view was a construction site next door. It was unexpected and we would have paid for an upgraded room if it were offered or we had known in advance. We had half board (breakfast and dinner included) for two nights. Dinner included a drink per person, appetizer, main, and dessert. Great breakfast! Your credit card doesn't remain on file so anything purchased separately needs to be paid at time of sale. It was just a little quirky. We still settled a bill for tips from dinners at the end of the stay. I had an issue with the supposedly FREE mon-motorized Walter-Sport available to guests: stand up paddle board or hobie cat. The owner questioned our sailing ability (like demanded to know our sailing resume) for the hobie cat and yelled at her staff for not putting a life jacket in the right spot. We pointed to our national regatta competition shirt. She sneered anyone can buy a shirt. We sailed the hobie cat in the bay 1.25 hours (fun) and got yelled at (seriously) when we came back for being late when we said at the beginning we didn't have a watch & the attendant put her hand out for a tip for handing in our life vests. The resort needs a much friendlier water sport vendor.
Garden view room. Definitely upgrade to pool view or beach view or call ahead to ask.

We traveled as a family with 2 young children (4 and 6). We had a pool view suite, with a full kitchen. It was spacious, the view was wonderful, and the housekeeping was helpful. The staff overall was very kind and caring. We enjoyed the pool, as well as the private beach with access to beach chairs and umbrellas. The beach was calm and clean, ideal for young children who aren't great at swimming yet. We enjoyed being able to use Splash Island as well as kayaks. We booked an excursion through the tour desk and had a great time - there was someone on staff coordinating with the tour company, and really on top of things, as they were late. We also enjoyed the evening programming - Wednesday night's manager's cocktail with local music and performances was so fun and festive! Lastly, staff were looking out for our kids, and letting us know when Kids Club activities were on, so they could take part, and my 6 year old really enjoyed the art projects. We had a great time!!

I was in a room with a restricted view, scaffolding; became aware at bedtime when closing the bedroom curtains. Raised this with the hotel in the morning. Informed the scaffolding should have been taken down and thus would be done this same day, Sunday. Also told there was not another available ground floor suite. I was offered 2 free massages as apology. Sunday came and went, scaffolding nit removed. Approached hurtling management in Monday, agencies it would be taken down. I also raised concentrate when ht trained ( and we are in the rainy season, we couldn’t use the patio as the roof buckled, cascading water shuck covered the patio as well as table and chairs. Despite raising my concern, both verbally and in messages neither the scaffolding or patio was addressed. In fact the scaffolding was not removed and remained blocking my view until I left the Bay Gardens Beach Resort after 5 nights. I found out that the scaffolding was there because the outside was being painted and that work had not been completed and painters were still there when I left.I declined the massages. I was disappointed having stayed at the Bay Gardens on previous occasions. My experienced was not good considering I booked months in advance to be there to celebrate my 70th birthday. I did not hear anything from the management and have not since. A very disappointing experience and being lied to only made it worse.

First impressions from the front desk was very unwelcoming. I felt like the lady didn’t have a consistent approach and warmth for all guests. On the first morning, beach towels weren’t available until about 10:30am. The previous day in the afternoon, none were available. The majority of the staff at the bar and restaurant were nice and provided a much better customer experience. But overall, the whole vibe was killed when checking in. I’ve stayed at quite a few hotels in St Lucia. Doubt I’ll return here.

Fabulous location. Nice upgrade room to sea view which was amazing. I went for the half board option supper value. The food and especially the breakfast is great and to top it the staff just couldn’t do enough for me especially the staff on reception who made sure I got my diabetic injections stuff that I accidentally left in the fridge that was so appreciated. Thanks again can’t wait to return.
